Please forgive me if there is already another topic about this. I didn't find one. Anyway the immigrant visas for my wife and daughter(from Russia to US) were approved on Sept. 7 and they were told at the interview "it is approved. Good luck in the USA". My wife returned home and is waiting on her passport and other documents to arrive. She is very anxious and looked online to find tracking information and saw a message saying her passport is still at the embassy and undergoing administrative processing. She is wondering what that means and if there is a problem. If anyone can provide information about this, it is appreciated.

There is an entire forum for AP Under the forums tab. If you use the search tool and type in AP after interview many threads will come up.

All visas go through some amount of administrative processing after interviewing. The steps commonly seen are Ready - AP - Ready - Issued.

No one can tell you how long the time period of each step will be. It depends on many factors.

If they kept her passport and told her approved, you are probably goiing thru normal processing of the visa and packet

some CO's are good to post steps as this / others never post / watch for "Issued" to show on the site

after being approved in July 2015 and him here for a year, yesterday ours said issued for the first time
