Moroccan Birth Cert

We are adjusting from a visitors visa( long out of status) to AOS.

On my husbands Moroccan Birth Cert, we obtained it by the help of my father in law in Morocco, one side was in French the other Arabic, had a Certified Translator friend of mine translate it from French to English, and we are sending in the copy only with note on it, Original available for inspection if requested.

Worried maybe there is more then one form of a Moroccan Birth Cert?, A long and a short form? or all they all the same??

Nervous of getting a RFE for birth cert. we obtained the BC over a year ago, is that going to hurt us also?

Some countries have a short form of the BC that does not name the parents, just says "so and so born this date." I don't know if Morocco has this. If your cert has the parents' names that's what you need.

YES! found the French copy of it, and I see his parents name on it along with their professions

We sent the green color one . We only got a rfe because they said they never got it's sent it again and everything was fine make sure you made copies

Ours was white, with French writing on one side, Arabic on the other, and yes made several copies of the birth cert. and the translation.

Important part is they need to see it is not copy of the family book but a certified birth from the city (or Rabat) where he is born

as Morocco makes family books to record the bitrth

also the size of the paper as morocco paper is longer than our 8X11

a loosy lawyer i had sent in just a copy and they said NOT MOROCCO as paper size was wrong / i had to send in an original

you do need an origianl for yourself but you may be asked for original

Now I'm worried, this was not as you described, it was hand written in French on one side, and other Arabic, had the stamp on it and signature, its a original, not photo copy

was not larger then 8 x 11 as you described. Guess all we can do is wait and see.

I did include copies of his expired passport and his new one, along with copy of his Moroccan ID card.

But BC shows Safi the city he was born in and where it was issue. So maybe its okay..... I hate this process, papers being delivered today,& I'm a nervous wreck.

Going to be a long, rough road, and most likely a home visit, shall I serve coffee? If I don't laugh, I will cry....

Beth, did you read the requirements on the link I posted? It may that different towns have slightly different ways of doing it, so you need to read the procedure on the link instead of quibbling over the results.

Most paper around the world is not imperial measurements (not inches) so it is slightly thinner and longer (called A4 paper). I bet if you measure against American paper you will see that it is different.

This is a lot of wasted energy when the information you need is on the link I gave you.

I'm a nervous wreck, years ago I was in this process and totally got scammed. cancelled before visa could be issued and reported it to the Consulate.

Normally I can and have help many people who were on this sight get through the process, but now I'm brain dead, all I knew is out of my head.

Will keep my rambling down.
