after tomorrow will be 3 months passed after my FP..and about 2.5 months since in line for interview

Hi All,

 

I went to my INFOPASS appointment today. The person at the counter was polite. I was told that my case is still at National Benefits Center because my Background Check is still pending. Its taking some time for them to get my background cleared. I was informed to check with them again in 90 days but the officer at the counter told me that I can check with them after 30, 60 etc days. They cant speculate on how much more time it will take for them to clear the background. So right now all I can do is just wait. Its frustrating!

 When i did my INFOPASS they told me the same thing pending background checks, and then i came back and called L2 officer, He told me my FP is cleared and he even told me the dates when it was cleared.  I am not sure if FP clearance is same thing as background checks clearance. May be that is one more step on top of FP clearance from FBI.

Thanks for your comment. Wow! Thanks crazy. I think FP clearance includes the Background Check. Not sure what is taking so long. How long did it take yours to get cleared.

Mine is at the same level as yours- Seeing FP Schedule notice status that's pretty much it.  L2 officer told me that it took USCIS 2 days to get response back from FBI. you can also call L2 officer and ask specifically, " did my Background Check and FP get cleared from FBI" If yes then when. You are right. It should took no more than 2-3 days for your fingerprint, name check, and background check to be cleared by FBI, unless you have common names, which can be stuck in the name check. Some L-2 officers will tell you but some won't tell you if your background check are cleared. Keep calling until you reach the right one!  I peeked at my file during the interview and saw my background check paper when the IO tried to find the info of my background check [my background check went straight to the FO, not to NBC], My FP was cleared a day after I got it done. My name check and background check were cleared in 2 days. They actually printed in a paper of the date of you FP and the date that they were cleared.

Updated with sorchaine's oath ceremony (congrats!), my husband's green card date, & fixed formatting. Auburn2005 let us know if I got the dates right for your fingerprints & in line. It was hard to tell from the way they were typed in on the earlier post due to the formatting. I was surprised your fingerprints were done so early!

Thanks for the comment..well hope u get updated soon, ur FP was 5 days b4 mine, however im having the same waiting in line for interview..in my openion it doesnt matter if u get updated in 2 weeks u might get ur interview a week after, and for me i been waitting for almost 3 months and hopfully will get interview app soon .. do u know what i mean same average with diffrent titles

When you call, you can ask if your FP, name check and background check are cleared by FBI. They should be able to answer you. But not all L-2 officers will answer you. Just keep trying til you get one who will answer you.

I had my interview today. 

I had an employment based green card. I had left that company around 6 years back and then applied for citizenship.

He wanted to know if I had my old company's W2. I did not carry it with me, so he looked at my tax returns.

I had taken all 5 year tax returns (3 transcripts + 2 of my own) and he took all of them.

Questions:

1. What did the declaration of independence do? (He wanted all 3 answers).

2. How many justices? 

3. Whom do senators represent? 

4. Name one branch of government. 

5.  If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

6.  What does the President’s Cabinet do?
