Hey guys,

 

I have infopass appointment on the 10th of January 2016. People who have previous experience of infopass appointment, could you please share as to how I should prepare myself for the appointment. I sent in my application on 23rd of September and FP was done 19th of October. Since then I have not heard anything from USCIS. I booked this appointment to basically get a true update.

I don't know why you had the urge to do that info-pass, really. What did you expect to here from them? It is still in the process. Search among n-400 filters. People wait longer. That's how it usually happens. You have to be patient and wait. It should be at least 5 months from your priority date before you hear from them. If you hear nothing, then I would be worried. August filters just now start being scheduled for the interview little by little. Some are still waiting. If you have ELIS account, you can write there, they will answer you with the update. If you get nervous too much, write your questions that you want to ask  in the paper to remember. Don't stress, take it easy!

(i) Do they ask you the questions exactly in the red book (which was given to us during fingerprinting)?

(ii) Do I need to take the full tax copies of the last 5 years -- or just the first 2 pages of 1040?

1) Yes, they asked the questions word for word exactly like in the book.

2) We brought our full tax transcripts from IRS, which were 4-5 pgs each. They were easy to download from the IRS website for free after creating an account.

Do I need to remember all answers to such questions like:

- What did the Declaration of Independence do? ..the 3 answers are announced our freedom, declared our freedom..said we are free.

Some questions have 3-4 answers.

I know some questions ask us to answer only "one" -- which is fine by me . no complaints about them.

Please let me know.

For those questions, if the answers have same meaning, just remember one. But if they don't, you have to remember all, unless the questions ask you to answer one or two.

 

During my interview, he asked "where is the statue of Liberty?". I sad New York. He told me to be more specific so I switched it to Liberty island instead.

You only need to say one of the listed answers unless the question specifically asks for a certain number. My husband chose the answer that was easiest for him to memorize and we made our own flashcards with his chosen answers using Quizlet. The test was really straightforward and easy once the answers were memorized. Good luck on your interview!

1. Yes, they did. And the written and reading parts have the words in the red book where the studies guide is too.

 

2.  I bring my 3 years tax transcript just in case. But I filed under 5 years. He didn't ask for anything, except my husband's letter of identification (oversea assignment order) from department of defense. He said they need it to keep on my file as a proof for expedite.

Wow that's interesting that they made you be more specific. This is the first time I've heard of them not accepting one of the listed answers. I'm guessing it depends on the officer you get? I believe they are supposed to accept any of the listed answers, but it seems safest to memorize the most specific answers.
