N-400 September 2016 Filers

Wow! Your husband's processing time was very quick. Did you guys see any other September filers at the interview? I sent in my package on 23rd of September and got my FP done on October 19th. No word/update since then. Your husband applied in September too. Glad that he was able to get through this process quickly. Did he apply after being resident for 3 years?

I'm not sure when other people at his interview filed because we didn't ask anyone, but there were a LOT of people there and it seemed really busy. He said his interview felt very rushed and it took only 15 minutes. He had his green card over 5 years, but we filed under the 3 year marriage law (we weren't sure which box to check, and I hadn't discovered this website yet, so we just checked that one). I have no idea why his processing seemed to go faster than others who filed through the Dallas lockbox. I only found this September filers thread a few weeks ago so I had no idea that other cases were taking much longer. I hope you hear back really soon too!

Fellow NYC filer here  , got "In line for an interview" notification last week , was wondering how long this interview scheduling process is gonna take.

Hello there, fellow NYC filer 

 

I haven't received any further updates, but I have been tracking other cases being processed at our field office meticulously. It seems things are going slow at the moment.

 

If the USCIS Processing Time Info page is correct, it's looking like the current processing time is 6.75 months. If I receive my interview letter later this month, that would be pretty accurate. I've read that the USCIS-published processing times aren't always correct, but based on mine and other NY applicant cases, it's looking like they're going beyond the average 5-month processing time at the moment.

 

I'll keep my timeline updated here anyway.

Do I assume that the interview would be about 6 weeks after the interview letter goes out? I've been in line for an interview so nothing scheduled yet but I have to fly to France for a family matter either Feb 15 to March 1 or Feb 22 to March 8. Not sure which or if I should book it at all :/

I've been assuming 5 weeks based on other timelines I've seen, but I've also seen some with 6 weeks too.

Hi AA100- I am from Dallas Office had my FP on 12/5- No updates for me since then.  I think Dallas Office doesn't change the status from FP Schedule to INLINE Interview.  I took an InfoPass  last week for some other case and also asked them about my N-400. They told me most of the employees are quitting their jobs in Dallas Office and transferring themselves to other offices so they are very short on human resource to do work.  Not sure why they are quitting their jobs or getting a transfer.

From what I understand, Dallas office and DC office are ones of the busiest office. They take longer time to process paperwork due to the amount of applications they have received. That's from my previous attorney who we hired for our green card. Not sure if it changes now but this information is from 2006.

When did you send in your application? It looks like most September filers had their fingerprints in October.

I filed on October 26th in Dallas. FP was done on 11/30 and they changed my status to "Inline for Interview" on 12/05.

No issues, so far.

rana300. I noticed your GC is more than 5 years old- So technically you are eligible for Naturalization interview like today. I think those who file 90 days before their due ceremony, don't get INLINE status until they are just 1 month behind their 3 or 5 year ceremony. . This may be wrong too- cause i completed my 4 years 11 months yesterday and they haven't updated my status from FP Schedule to INLINE.  . As far as i know -  They will always interview us after we have completed our due term on GC.  I also didn't receive any notification ( Email/Text)  for FP appointment, despite i sent that E-notification form- But i did receive a text for case acceptance.
