cj4vc or anybody got their interviews scheduled? Looks like we will have to wait till December/Jan for an interview notice! Bummer!

I think she just had her finger print done last 10/27/2016, and she's line for interview 11/01/2016. For my understanding based from the log. Oh well if she does shes lucky

One question to all: Where is the N-400 application actually processed? In Phoenix office (for California -- that's the office I sent the application to) or the local office (where we are fingerprinted).

When I look at processing times -- looks like only you can choose local office for N-400 times?

it looks like they are scheduling interview for those applicants that have the Elis account. i have seen several people with OI case number that has file back in june and there now scheduling their interview for them. i hope they dont freeze us with nbc number like they did the OI number

My understanding is I'm in line for interview now. The update says "If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview." It has been less than a week since my fingerprint, so it's pretty fast. I see several other people with similar timelines though.

I hear you. It depends on how busy your field office is. They have to have available interview slot open for you. Once they put you in that, your status will change to interview schedule. Meanwhile, field office can also reschedule your interview date if your file doesn't arrive on time from National Benefit Center. USCIS is one big messy & unorganized organization!

ELIS system is one big mess. Not many IOE applicants are lucky to get interview. We, as NBC applicants, have better shots though. On another website, IOE applicants who got interview said it took 30-45 minutes for their interview because they put all info into the tablet. And the interview officers at field office, aren't fully trained for using ELIS system, except 1-3 officers! That's sad.

Most likely, it's processed at National Benefits Center[NBC]. But Field office is the one who schedule your interview. From what I understand, when we file to the lockbox, they scanned our applications which will be directly sent to NBC who will mail out our fingerprint letter. Once our background check is cleared, we'll be put for "in line for interview". Once our interviews are schedules, the files will be transferred from NBC to field office. Some applicants get it done faster if their FOs aren't busy ones.

For expedite, it's mainly up to FO. My applicant is expedited by FO [with the congressman request] so my file is requested to be sent from NBC to FO but I don't know how long it will takes. My BC is cleared but my status hasn't updated. The reason I know it's cleared because FO told the congressman's assistant. But none L-2 officer [over the phone] knew because they don't have the access through it.

Thanks for the input! My case is a LIN case as I am filling on the military spouse basis. My field office is not really busy; as of now, I've been "in line for an interview" for nine days. What I've heard is that cases at my field office are processed within for months. I am at thirty-six days from NOA date.

Awesome! I filed my application before my husband got his international order assignment. He's DOD contractor. His company only gave him 3 weeks notice. It's either he went or he had to find a new job. So we ended up asking our Senator for help with the expedite. The FO isn't a busy one but we have no clue how long it will take for the file to be transferred from NBC to the field office. I hope mine will be fast. FO told the senator's assistant that my interview and oath will be on the same day. My husband is now abroad but our 3 kids and I are stuck here.

As my case is going, I can't contact 1-800 numbers because the communication between the congressmen and FO [filed office] will not show on the screen. The L-2 officers suggested me to contact the FO through the Senator's assistant. It's crazy and I wish it will be over soon.

You are welcome. I have to remind myself to be calm because the unknown of waiting can, at time, drive me crazy. Right in the middle of this, my husband was relocated to Germany by his job. So now I'm stuck here with our 3 kids because of my pending U.S. citizenship application. I want it, badly, to be over so we can move and reunite with my husband. But dealing with USCIS for the past 11 years, I've learned that they are very unorganized and slow. We all will eventually become U.S. citizen soon! Good luck!

We just need to hang in there!! We will all be done with USCIS soon enough!
