Generally, if you call 1-800 numbers and asked to speak with L-2 officers, most can tell you. Or if you go in for Infopass at the field office, the IO can tell you as well.

In my case, my application was expedited with the help of my state Senator due to my husband's oversea assignment. I went in for fingerprint on 10/11 and I received the e-mail [from the Senator assistant] on 10/14 stated that the field office has received my completed biometrics and accepted my case to be expedited. According to couple lawyers I spoke with, the senator assistant, and L-2 officers, my background check is cleared. The FO will not accepted the case for expedition unless the background checks are cleared. However, on the screens at 1-800 L-2 officers, they couldn't see my case update, nor the expediting acceptance because it's the communication between the senator and field office directly. If I need to check anything, I will either have to call his assistant or have to go in for Infopass which is 380 miles round trips!

The lawyers & L-2 officers said it's because my case got congressman involvement since the beginning [before I got fingerprint scheduled], my case can be process outside their normal procedure and the 1-800 L-2 officers have no access to that communication between congressmen and field office. I'm still waiting to hear from the field office though. It's been almost 2 weeks that they requested my file from NBC. Anyway, I also found out that NBC [National Benefits Center] has separated division for dealing with Congressmen because he put the inquiry through NBC as well. But NBC doesn't make a decision on expediting inquiry. It's the field office's decision.

hello everyone,

i did the biometrics on my scheduled date 10/11/16 but my status still stay on "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled"

my field office is Dallas,TX

Please, if there is another september filers from Dallas to share their status. I am checking few times a day, hoping to see my case changes to "in line for interview" and getting frustrated.

I am also in the same situation. I did my FP on 10/18 and still the status remains the same. I am also in Dallas office

Hi All.

Just called USCIS. Wanted to know if my FP was cleared and the representative said 'If it was not cleared then you must have received something in the mail. But so far everything looks good at our end.' When I asked about when should I expect the interview letter or change of status to 'in line for interview'. She said, 'I can't provide any further information'. Ughhh.

How can I get in touch with L2 officer?

You can call them back and ask the L-1 to transfer your call to L-2. Many will do so. If they ask, you can tell them it's about your background check and you specifically need to speak with L-2! Good luck! :)

From my experience, L-2 officers will tell you with the same thing you see on the screen. My background check is cleared according to the field office (through the senator) but my status hasn't changed. L-2 officers didn't know that and they didn't know my case is expedited either though it is expedited. Good luck!
