I am just being a little silly

as I do not think I will go as I do not have time of work, nor do I have alot of money, to just throw to the airlines. BUT actually, if my fiance will be traveling from Peru, and her POE is in Miami, or somewhere like that. If I go to Miami to meet her, since she does not speak english and I am worried, is there a way to meet her in the airport and to go through all the lines with her, or does she(being an international flight) go through completely different part of airport than I would. My plan is to take a flight to Miami and then just wait outside her gate until she arrives. Is this possible what i propose??

My fiancee's POE will be nevada. I plan on meeting her there, then we will both fly here. I've been wondering the same thing you are. I guess I will wait and see.

Only ticketed passengers are allowed in the security areas. You could probably do what I did, I just waited for Claudeth to come out of the customs area. Good luck

As far as I know you cannot accompany him through the POE. They have interpretation services available and will utilize them if needed.

However, given your finance is coming from Peru, I am guessing his native language is Spanish...thus if his POE is Miami he should not have any issues communicating as Miami POE has plenty of officials that speak Spanish (been through there before)

If his language is something other than Spanish, all I can tell you is you are not allowed to enter with him to facilitate the translation until an POE official either contacts you or you somehow goto the POE office in Miami and explain the situation.

You can wait outside the security area only (ticketed passengers only inside that perimeter) - which will be useless assuming she'll be connecting to another flight directly after that. The only way to accomplish this is to fly with her from Peru and even then there's no real guarantee you'd both be in the same line, but it's likely they would allow it.)

The good news is Spanish is not an uncommon language and if it is a problem, a translator can be found (especially in Miami) to assist.

Some careful preparations can be made on your parts to make the trip easier/less-stressful.

Besides planning the route and making sure she doesn't lose/leave-behind any papers, leave the airport for any reason, filling out the customs form etc.. You can maybe make a little cheat sheet of some basic phrases (in Spanish and English) that she might be able to use if she gets frustrated (I know it sounds silly, but as kind of a security blanket).. (Key phrases, important names/numbers -YOURS, etc..)

Actually since you are from Wisconsin and she is coming in from Peru, if you fly down you will be in the secure area and can meet her when she comes out of customs. There is not way to meet her before that point but that still is better than having her leave the passanger area.

I did that with my first fiancee when she came in through Atlanta. Book yourself a round trip ticket to Miami with the return on the same flight as she is on. You will likely have to change terminals to accomplish that but that should be doable and if not then you can meet her at the gate for her other flight.

In Miami, her flight most likely will arrive in Terminal A. The terminals in Miami airport are not connected together. The only people allowed passed security are ticketed passengers for flights operating out of that terminal. If you are lucky and are by chance a ticketed passenger for a terminal A flight you could possibly pass through security to go wait at her gate, but when the flight arrives, the only thing you could do is wave to her through the glass wall as she comes off the flight and is immediately directed towards the POE. There is no way for you to get together until after she has been inspected.

Don't worry about her being alone at MIA. There is a ton of people there who speak Spanish, so she won't have any issues.

I flew down to Brazil for my fiance's interview and then came back to the U.S. on the same flight as him. His POE was Miami and it was easy enough to find customs - the signs are in Spanish too.

There are always officers that speak Spanish - Bienvenido a Miami. I wouldn't worry about it.

Our experience was pretty good. The officer gave us a hard time about my fiance's two last names but it wasn't a big deal. He only speaks Portuguese so I did all of the talking.
