Request for More Information

My husband sent off for the police record in February. We estimated they had until 28th March to get it to us. Today, my husband received a letter requesting more information:

1. Aliases

2. Tattoos

3. Scars

4. Other know addresses (even though we gave them all, like 6 or 7)

5. Convictions, if any

Has anyone had this happen? My husband sent a letter back, actually faxed it back today, but I was just wondering if anyone could let me know if they went through the same thing and tell me a little bit about it.

I'm worried we will have to wait another 40 days, in which case it would be too late for the interview. Also, he did get a rrested a few times for drunken and disorderly, but he was never convicted, just cautioned. Would he need to get court records of that?

Any help would be great!

Thank you!

Is this the form he used to request it?

If so, then I'm confused why they'd come back with this. The form is for the police national computer - they should know what convictions (if any) he's had, and certainly wouldn't have to ask him to supply that information!

I can only think that they might have had a hit on that name...and are just looking for additional means to clear him. Apart from that I can't think why, I've certainly not read of anyone having this problem before.

Hope he gets it sorted.

There is a telephone number on the receipt they would have sent. Why don't you phone them and see if they can give you some more information on why this has happened?

Agreed. I'd call that number. It probably is some kind of name hit - but as long as they can clear it up with the information they requested from your fiance, why worry? His must just be a slightly common name.

And I'd also mention your interview date. If it is going to take a bit longer to get the report through, it may ensure that you get it in time for the interview if you bring this to their attention.

If not, you can still attend the interview, it'll just be pending the police certificate, which you can send in once you get it. Please try not to worry yourself ill over this. I am SURE there is a reasonable explanation for it all. :)

Thanks for the reassurance. Hopefully we will hear something this week. My husband did mention the interveiw date in the letter, so hopefully they will work quickly. My husbands name is completely UNcommon, so I don't think that is the case. Anyway, will let you know how it goes...

Thanks again

I also got a request for more infrmation, sent it back abd had my police check week later, I assume they had a hit on the name and were checking to make sure they had the right person.

He should get the court records for his cautions as he does have to declare them on the form and will be asked for records. I wasn't able to produce records due to court records from the time I was charged having been destroyed but took official letters explaining this. I was asked about thiis brifly during my interview.
