Hi,

I had my medical back in the UK but I also need the i-693a vaccination supplement.

I've made an appointment for this tomorrow but I'm worried its going to cost me an arm and a leg.

The woman I spoke to on the phone was a bit dozy and couldn't tell me how much it would cost and that I should look it up on the website, however the website only shows the entire exam. I'm worried I'm going to get stung for money i can'afford to lose.

Has anyone been for the i-693a?

It's strange...my husband got his medical exam in the UK as well, and the doctor automatically filled in his vaccination information on a I-693a US form. I hope that it's legit and we don't have to go through this. :\

That sounds suspiciously like the price for the FULL medical. If all you need is the supplement, then that is all you need. Call them back and confirm if it is for the full medical or just the supplement. Many will try to tell you that you require the full medical, but if you have a valid medical within the last year from a panel physician you do not. If they will not do just the supplement, then call around and find someone who will. $25 to $75 seems to be the going price - I paid $50 in Atlanta.

Definetly call around for someone to do JUST the I-963a, not the rest of the medical (because it is not necessary since you have had yours done within the last year). I paid $5 for mine.

They may take it but it is supposed to be done by a (US) civil surgeon & then sealed.

I would call all the civil surgeons in your area because we called the only one near us and they didn't charge us anything to transfer it. I think you will find different prices for all the different ones around you.

Because I found it by searching this forum.

Ok I went today and walked away empty handed because they were indeed trying to charge me for a full mediacl.

I explained I needed only the supplement I 693a but they couldn't understand why it had not been filled out in the uk if I already had the I 693.

What do I need to get it transferred?

I don't have a copy of my medical, I thought that was sent directly to the embassy. Should I have a copy of this?

Also do I need vaccination records from my doctor back home?

Thanks for any help.

Oh and I'm in Jersey City NJ if anyone wants to reccomend a civil surgeon.
