We got our RFE today in the mail and it was all about affidavit of support.Anyway,we were required to submit

I. Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year or certified IRS copis.

II. W-2s and 1099s

III. Letter from employer showing beginning of date of employment, type of work perfomed, number of hours worked per week and salary or wages paid.If self employed, submit a recently dated letter on business letter head.

We are a little bit confused. My wife filed her returns online through turbotax using form 1040A.Is it the same thing with 1099s or can it be used in place of 1099s?Also,is it okay if we print the returns online through turbotax rather than applying for tax transcripts through IRS.

To Blessed to be stressed:) I realize that all things have a purpose and a time.....have faith and the Lord Almighty will provide... when the time is right, he NEVER fails!

1099s are for miscellaneous reported income. So if she doesn't have any miscellaneous (self-employed, etc) income, it doesn't apply to her. She only has to send W2s and any schedules filed with the 1040A.

The good news for you, since your wife did her taxes with Turbotax for the web, if she has been doing it for the past couple of years, she can actually download a free copy for the prior year from her turbotax account.

1099 can come from a varieties of income

Interest paid to you on your bank account

Dividend paid to you by stocks

Divident paid to you by a company stocks or funds

Any kind of income that you make outside a typical Job, outside a regular paycheck where it's the business responsibility hmm maybe both to take and show the taxes taken on your w2

When we did the K1, we submitted an employment letter but to be on the safer side, We sent an updated employment letter along with most recents paycheck, It's more a confirmation that you are still working at the same place, and there are no major changes in your income status otherwise a cosponsor might have to get into the picture.

Gone but not Forgotten!
