Hello Everyone,

so i I wanted to ask you about the the waiting process after the interview. So far it's been 17 days since the interview and today the status on the CEAC website says administrative processing now before it said Ready so that's the most recent change. Did this happen to you as well? The interviewer person said it can take from 2-4 weeks but I'm not sure. Any feedback will help.

 Thanks

Considering it's Afghanistan, it will probably stay in Administrative Processing for a little while longer than Western countries. It can take a few weeks, months, or even years. But considering the interviewer said 2-4 weeks, I guess you should count on that.

Question plz.

Got my visa with sealed envelop today from embassy. Kinda confused regarding entry period. It says... issue date 24jan2017, expiration 22jul2017 and petition valid until 16 March 2017.

My question.. What time do i have to enter US? Secondly! Do i need to buy one way ticket or 2ways?

Hang in there if u still waiting for ur interview/visa.. best of luck:)

The visa is good for 6 months, hence the 24Jan2017 to 22Jul2017.  You have 6 months to enter the US.  The petition validation date is just your case will be open until then if you need to inquire about anything or make modifications to your petition.  I bought my fiancee a one-way ticket to the US.

Short update, we received Packet 3 on January 11th but we didn't see it because the embassy used the email they had when I applied for my last B1/B2 visa (4 years ago) and I didn't use that email since then, so we found out about everything on January 23rd that we were able to communicate with the embassy,  the same day we filled the forms online and scheduled our appointments!

Medical exams February 20th and23rd.

ASC Appointment February 24th. Consular interview in March  3rd.

Usually, it's cheaper to buy a roundtrip ticket than one-way. Just cancel the ticket back when you get to the US.
