Timeline

Hi, this is my first post on this thread. Here's my timeline so far:

- mailed application Fed-ex overnight early morn to Lewisville on September 22

- NOA1 text message and email received Sept 27

- Hard copy received Oct 1, was then able to track case on USCIS, which said NOA1 actually happened on Sept 23

- NOA2 text message late at night 9:45pm CST on Oct 21, never received an email

- NOA2 hard copy received in mail on Oct 27. Note: online USCIS case tracker says Approved on Oct 21, same as text message. "Case history" section at the bottom of the page still only shows the original receipt notice action "we received your I-129f on 9/23/2016"

That's it so far. I began calling NVC after two weeks from NOA2, and awaiting receipt there. If it's consistent with what many of you have experienced, I imagine they will have it next week or so.

Nice to meet you all! I really love this website and the people here. I can't thank you all enough for the help and wealth of information given here, timeline comparison tools, time estimates - everything. Hard to imagine doing this without a lawyer if sites like this didn't exist.

To show my gratitude I'll continue to provide as much information as I can about our process. I love my fiancé, and I wish you all success and a quick and painless journey. :)

Confused with DS 160 :/ Should I put my fiancé as an immediate relative?

We put no here and didn't have any issues.

The questions on the DS-160 are, "Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents living in the US?" and, "Do you have any other relatives in the United States?".

Technically, I do not believe Fiance is considered an immediate relative or a relative.

In this example form for a K-1 visa, it is also entered as "No"

I had a lawyer prepare my petition and he actually put Yes and labeled me as "Fiancee" as the relationship in the united states. Whoever see's this with half a brain will understand regardless of what is right or wrong. Just my two cents.

Yep, I think you're right that it's not a deal breaker either way.

When you register online at SLEC(Philippones) for medical, there is also a question regarding relatives in US.It says in there if none, put petitioner's name whom in K1 visa is the fiance.

Anyways, just checked CEAC and case is in TRANSIT,Yay! 4 days from when NVC received it.
