My NOA1 is Sept. 26. It's been over 5 weeks for me now. My attorney said it would take 4-5 months, less than 6 months for sure. I too have seen applications getting approved around me in less than 4 weeks. So I understand the frustration. I have looked at the USCIS app for the past week and haven't seen much movement around me. So I'm just hopeful right now.

It kinda makes me worried with all this information to read on this site. I have read where some have been waiting up to a year to get their security check done. I guess this is all case by case.

Hello Everyone! So I am also waiting for the NVC case number and letter. I received my NoA2 on 09/24/16 so it's been over a week. In the meaning time while I am waiting I'm seeing in other discussions that documents have to be sent to my fiancé? I wanted to get clarifications if these forms get sent to the NVC and then they sent the packet ? How does it work? I'm a bit confused with the next steps. I have my tax forms and bank statements but I am not sure if it's too early to request a letter for my employer ? Any advice will help as I don't want to waste time while I am waiting.

Did you ask for your case number through email? How long did it take before they replied?

The NVC will send your case to your embassy/consulate, and then the embassy will send you a letter ("packet 3") that tells you which documents to bring to the interview. You can also look up what documents are needed beforehand on the embassy webpage or in the regional discussion forums here on visajourney. Reading the guides also might help you. :)

It looks like I'm way behind on joining this thread. I filed Sept. 12 and Got my NOA2 on Oct 18. I'm waiting for my NVC notification.

I'm curious why I didn't get a phone message on NOA2 when I got one for NOA1. I'm thinking I wont get one from the NVC either.

I hope I don't get just an email from them and it ends up in my spam folder.

I'm still a little confused on what I should be doing proactively now waiting for the NVC. I guess pay some fees and start preparing financial documents. Some of which I can't do until I get my case number....still waiting.

Would I be able to just scan them and email them to my fiancé such as the employment letter, bank statements, tax

Forms and affidavit of support form ?

Pretty sure the documents need to be signed by you. So you have to mail them to your fiancé(e).

Not getting a text/email for the NOA2 is pretty normal for some reason. I didn't get one either.
