I see on your timeline that your consulate says Norway. All the Scandinavians has to go to the Stockholm embassy for K1 visas. If you wrote that the application should be sent to Oslo on the I-129F form, maybe that's what the RFE is about? It should say Stockholm instead. I have no idea though. Just a suggestion. It seems silly they would give you an RFE for that. I'm rambling. :P

Hi! quick question, where does it say all scandinavians need to go to stockholm? I didn't find any information on that. I'm also in Norway and we got our NOA2 approved on october 20th:) Hoping for an answer:)

Hi all I need some help I received my Noa2 on Friday but since doing some research about the next steps I have to take I've come across that I need a police clearance from every country I've lived in for more than 6 months, I lived in the United States for the past 2 years on a j1 visa hence how I met my fiancé. Do I need a police clearance for the United States as well as South Africa where I officially reside, if so how do I get the US police clearance from South Africa?

This is a thread hijack! If you search in the Google Custom Search box at the top right and enter USA Police Clearance you will learn none is required. USCIS has access to all of the law enforcement databases.

Hi! quick question, where does it say all scandinavians need to go to stockholm? I didn't find any information on that. I'm also in Norway and we got our NOA2 approved on october 20th:) Hoping for an answer:)

The information is available on the American Embassy in Oslo's website: https://norway.usembassy.gov/immigration.html

The U.S. Embassy in Oslo offers the following very limited range of Immigrant Visa services:

  • Applications for Returning Resident Visas
  • Applications for Boarding Foils (formerly Transport Letters)
  • Green Card Abandonments (Abandonment of Lawful Permanent Resident status)

All immigrant visa and diversity visa interviews and adjudications for residents of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden take place at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. For general information on immigrant visas and immigrant visa processing, we refer to the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm.

More information on the American Embassy in Stockholm's website, too: https://se.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/

Here's a link specifically about the K1 visa: https://se.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/fiancee-visa-overview/

Hi fellow September filers,

My fiancé and I filed for the I129F on September 12 and got our NOA1 on September 20. I was visiting my fiancé in the USA while filing for the visa. Do you guys think this can cause any problems? We did fill in the special section on the I129F form.

This website says according to other peoples timelines that our case might be adjudicated in between October 24 and October 28. Has this been true for most people?

Thank you for answering:)

Good luck in everyones cases, don't give up!

You will be fine unless you are violating the visitors visa or got arrested while you were in the US.

My fiance is flying in for a visit in two days on a visitors visa. I just emailed him the NOA1 in case there are any questions about his visit when he enters the country but there has never been any concerns in the past :)

Also that dates for NOA2 are an estimate. I filed my NOA1 on September 2 and am still waiting. There are 20% of us still waiting for that day. It's just luck of the draw.

My fiancée tried to call the NVC multiple times yesterday, but they hung up on her. She was not put on hold.

I don't know if we're going to bother to keep calling the NVC. The embassy in Stockholm doesn't allow booking an interview date until they've received your case and sent packet 3, anyway. So there's really no point for us to get the case number now, except to get done with the DS-160 or whatever it's called.

wow smh how rude, well they should blame uscis at least uscis is making hard efforts to approve faster nvc needs to catch up , there process isnt even that long like uscis, but it makes sense why theyre slowing down
