Hello! I am currently working on my I-864 form for my fiancé and I. And I have a question regarding the income. My income is above poverty line, however I was a student until May last year, and did not start working until August 2015, so I did not have a full year of income come taxes in April. I was concerned that they may question my ability to sponsor him. Will this be a problem? Should I have my Dad fill out an I 864 as well, just to be safe? Thank you!

Ah, then they are your spouse now, not fiance. It also helps to have an updated timeline so people know where you are in the process.

You need to include a statement as to why you did not legally file taxes any of the last 3 years that you did not, as the instructions state. You can provide a letter from employer and recent pay stubs to prove your current annual income. You can leave it like that and see if it is approved, or if you do not want to waste time with an RFE, then have your dad be your joint sponsor to be safe.
