Guys,

I was just wondering about the process.

I am very new to this and was thinking that if there is a part of the VJ forum dedicated to it, well it must take some time!

After the f2a journey, I was sure we were done with waiting time and frustration in general but, apparently, we are not.

For those that don't want to read page 1, my situation in few words is: I applied for my wife as a permanent resident of the United States (f2a visa) and - after 19 months my wife got her visa on her passport and then became resident of the States 3 months later when she entered in America.

At that time, our marriage was 23 months old and therefore she was supposed to receive the conditional green card but in fact, basing on the date on her card she got the 10yrs GC.

This is apparently a mistake and now we should file a I-90 in order to ask for the right card and then - 90 days before the 2 yrs anniversary as a conditional resident - we need to apply for ROC.

I have now few question and would be very appreciated if you could help me with the answers.

We are thinking about going to the Uscis before filing the I-90 to check if they have the same discrepancy in the system (my wife was supposed to receive the 2 years GC and therefore tha date on her GC is just wrong). What do you think?

Do you know more or less how long it will take to receive the right card?

Is the ROC process a long one? Do you know if it has a cost?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help with this!

This official link would have some of your answers. https://www.uscis.gov/i-751

Summarily, it's a several-months-long process and costs about $600.

Thanks for the answers!

I will go to the Uscis first and ask them to please check if in their system they see any discrepancy or if they have the 10yrs GC also in the database.
