Is it true that the i134 affidavit of support must be notarized? Cos the one I printed out on line does not have a space for a notary, only my signature. (Nigeria)

The I-134 instructions said the I-134 does not have to be notarized.

"Note: Signing Form I-134 is under penalty of perjury under U.S. law. For this reason, it is not necessary to sign Form I-134 before a notary, nor to have your signature notarized after you sign it."

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

I used the form that was sent in packet 3 and it had space for a notary to sign and stamp.

Make sure you're using the forms from the USCIS website, not the ones in the packet that the embassy sent.

I had it notarized on my interview and the CO really appreciated. It may be different for each country. Try to have a look on your country portal .

No. It does not need to be notarized. Your consulate's K-1 instructions link to the USCIS site to download the current version of the form, and it makes no mention of notarization >

The CO actually told you that they appreciated the fact that you notarized the I-134 that did not require it, and even states such in the instructions?

Why would they send it in the packet if you are not suppose to use it?

Why would they send it in the packet if you are not suppose to use it?

Because no one took the time to update the form they send you and because you have a direct link to the new form

which does not require notarization.

Oh ok Ebunaluwa that makes sense. I will print the other one and fill it out and try to send it to my fiance before the interview and tell him to discard the one I notorized. You were big help.

The CO said : ,,Oh and it's notarized, that's nice !'' i have nothing to lose even if it need to be notarized or not. I just said what I know from my experience...
