AOS interview much sooner than expected?

Hi all,

Just went to check on my case numbers and saw that for the I-485, as of yesterday (9/6/2016) the case is "ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status for an interview." It goes on to say that they will schedule the interview and send me a notice. For reference, this is only Day 52 since the AOS package was received.

I received my Emergency Advance Parole about a month ago (see timeline in signature) but have yet to receive my EAD, and the case number for the I-130 hasn't updated since they received the form on 7/18/16, the note about the interview only displays on the case number for the I-485.

I'm obviously not complaining if it really was such a quick turnaround, but has anyone else had an interview take place so early on? Is there any chance this was an error or premature on their part? Thanks for any guidance!

July 27th 2016 - Email + text notifications + checks cashed (Day 9)

August 10th 2016 - Infopass: Emergency Advance Parole (Approved!) & Biometrics (Day 23)
August 18th 2016 - Traveled home for family emergency (Day 31)

August 28th 2016 - Returned on Emergency Advance Parole (Day 41)

September 6th 2016 - I-485 interview notice sent (Day 51)

September 29th 2016 - EAD Approved (Day 74), no update on MyUSCIS or card received

November 16th 2016 - New EAD card delivered by USPS (Day 121)

May 16th 2017 - Joint interview, notified of acceptance, card in production (Day 305)

May 19th 2017 - Card mailed (Day 308)

May 21st 2017 - Card received! (Day 310)

March 8th 2019 - ROC Package Delivered (Day 0)

March 14th 2019 - Check cashed (Day 6)

March 15th 2019 - NOA arrived (Day 7)

April 18th 2019 - Biometrics Appointment (Day 41)

Jan 15th 2020 - Notification of case transfer (Day 313)

Unlikely to be a mistake.

You will likely be waiting until well into 2017 for an actual interview date in NYC though.

Dont worry, this is quite normal :) Itll probably be a few wees for you to get an interview date, and the date itself will most likely be a month ahead! So you're looking at AT LEAST about six weeks before your actual interview :)

This is normal and you'll be notified once they schedule the interview. I received the same notice on March 29th, 2016 and I'm still waiting for my interview. Welcome to the "waiting room"
