There’s no need for you to sweat about anything, CSC is dangerously backlogged barely scratching July 2016 cases. As you can see you still have many months off waiting ahead of you. VSC on the other hand is doing a little better with October 2016 approvals currently. Everything used to be the reverse under 6 months for CSC until backlog generated around late 2016. It has always been a periodic trend that happens in cycles over certain years especially during election times when petitions spike. It has nothing to do with your same sex marriage or this administration. You’re still a permanent resident for all intents and purposes until your I-751 gets adjudicated no matter how long it takes. Same sex marriage by the way is now the law of the land and no administration can overrule what the Supreme Court ruled. The U.S. constitution has checks and balances for a reason between the different branches of government. I’m a December 2016 filer and still waiting since biometrics if that should make you feel better.

Thank you!! I really feel a lot better after reading everybody responses! I was not aware of the serious backlog at CSC, so after seeing that my situation is similar to anybody else, I feel like I can rest a little easier.

Let's hope!! :)

So I just received some good news. My wife's case got approved on 10/6 and the letter arrived in the mail today. Its funny how I called USCIS last week (after 10/6) and even the Tier 2 officer provided no update on the case. Their systems must be really antiquated.

I also sent some documents to my congressman's office this morning to follow-up. But I guess I have to withdraw the request now that its approved.  Time to work on the N400 application....

Question:

How long does it typically take to get the greencard in mail? The letter says 60 days.....I have an appointment with infopass next week....but I am inclined to keep it and get a stamp as we are travelling overseas on 11/10

Key Dates:

NOA 1: Sep 23 2016

Fingerprints: Oct 24 2016

Approval Oct 6 2017

My approval letter was on September 26h, on October 3rd they made update "card is processing" , on October 13 changed status "we mailed you the new GC" I still waiting for it😱

People here like to have a multipage discussions on how many days are between their approval notice and actual receiving their card. But who cares 3 days, 7 days, 10 days when you got an approval. It only distracts us who are still suffering.

I don't see the problem. I'd be anxious too if I got the approval and didn't get the card in a timely manner.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

My extension letter has expired already. However, I got a passport stamp in March so I could travel. Now the thing is even *that*  stamp is expiring soon because immigration officer only gave me 9 months.

Question: If the the first stamp expires (Dec 2017), will I be prevented from later getting another stamp if I need to travel? (whilst still waiting on GC to arrive)

No.

I am on my fourth stamp....

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

This morning I went to get my stamp. I got it till 18 of April and he didn't take my extension letter and the green card. The immigration officer was really nice and honest about our situation. He said that September fillers won't hear anything before the end of January. I told him that by my calculations I think I would have news by March-April and he said that my calculations are accurate. Although, he mentioned that every week they deal with different amount of applications and some  weeks they have a lot, some are not that many, so there is a chance for February or May, depending of how many are the applicant for August and September. But he said that he is certain that I won't have any news before February.

Glad that they allowed to keep the old GC

I just booked an infopass to get a stamp. The Cleveland office must be really quiet because there were tons of open appointments.

There are plenty of VSC September filers here, who are still waiting for their approval. Your friend just got lucky, the officer responsible for his paperwork must have worked faster than others, that's it. Sorry to disappoint you, but unless you are as lucky as your friend you won't get approval till mid November - December. I also suggest you look for November filers forum to get a real picture of processing times.

ROC timeline:

I-751 sent to Vermont Service Center

I-751 filing date: 09-13-2016

NOA receipt date: 09-20-2016

Biometrics appointment on 10-21-2016

I-751 approved on 10-13-2017

Approval letter received on 10-20-2017

Case status "New card is being produced" on 11-01-2017

Card mailed (Lees Summit, MO) 11-03-2017

Card received (Atlanta, GA) 11-07-2017

N400 timeline:

Field office - Atlanta, GA

N400 applied on-line on 10-28-2017

Receipt notice date: 10-28-2017

Biometrics appointment issued 11-04-2017

Biometrics appointment date - 11-22-2017

My NOA date was 9/14/2016, VSC, and did biometrics mid Oct 2016 (don't remember exact date). I got an extension stamp on passport back in 02/2017, which will last till 02/2018, they took the old GC.

I got hold of a level 2 call back today, as customer service can't confirm address on the case. The call back wait time originally stated was 116 min, and it came in at 140 min, it shows up as a 8000000 number. I confirmed my address is correct ( as I filed an address change), and the case is still at VSC

This level 2 was not helpful at all, he was just BS for the full time. First he asked me -- did you go to your interview? I told him I never got notice of any interview, and then he double checked, said yep, 'good for you, no interview means you are good'. I asked him about the '10/3/2017' as of date showing on USCIS processing time website, he said that means they are giving priority to cases before 10/3/2017... He then asked me 'is your extension expiring?' I told him I got a stamp extended to 02/2018, and he said that's how long we think it'll take, that's why we give it till then. Which is again BS, the info pass officer gave me till 02/2018 because that's exactly a year since the day of info pass.

Anyway, it's a wait game. Good luck to everyone including myself.

I do not know why you have to see it as a problem, this is a forum where we share all the updates and if you are waiting almost a year for approval it is logical that you want to have the gc in your hands, like me that I 'm waiting for it 23 days and it not arrives🙄
