Thanks, @TaniaC for taking the time to asnwer my question! And what a detailed answer!

I will download both apps you recommended (I have an iPad, but on Android for my phone), and add my ROC case to it.

As for the limitation on which service center is processing the applications, wouldn't you just simply be able to recognize it by the 3-letter code? WAC is for CSC and EAC is for VSC.

I did not know that! Thank you for this information!

Then all cases in the Lookup will be either Vermont or California, depending which one you input to look up.

Well... It also means that VSC has more than 20 cases (those which I follow, and there must be many more) from September 20 which are still pending :(

ROC timeline:

I-751 filing date: 09-13-2016

I-751 approved on 10-13-2017

Approval letter received on 10-20-2017

Case status "New card is being produced" on 11-01-2017

Card mailed (Lees Summit, MO) 11-03-2017

Card received (Atlanta, GA) 11-07-2017

Nikkosan,

Don’t know which App  4444510 meant, I have 2 on my android phone:

-          USCIS Case Status by Spinach Mobile LLC

-          USCIS Case Status by Aries Software Studio

The Spinach App has a daily “Real-time updates” (i.e. Notifications) which show updates on various cases. You can go to Notifications’ settings and set that it would display only updates similar to your case. You can also chose a country of citizenship for the case (“your” or “any”), and date of application (“any” or dates close to your application date). The advantage of these updates is that they show which Service Center cases are being processed. To be able to get Notifications you will need to save your case in your profile in the app.

The Aries App has another feature which I personally like more. It is called “Lookup case” and next to it is “My cases”. Basically you can look up for cases which number is close to yours, then choose those which are also CRI-89 (removal of GC conditions) and follow their updates (they will be saved in “My cases” menu). Unfortunately, this app does not show which Service Center is processing these cases. So, let’s say, your case number is 654, and the previous ones 653 and 650 are also CRI-89 and have the same status “Case received on September 20”, but you will never know are they of VSC or CSC. And as we know from this thread CSC is like two months behind comparing to VSC.

The Spinach App looks more informative, however all “recent” Vermont cases that it has shown these past days were from June and July application dates. This is strange, since according to this forum VSC is already processing September filers.

The Aries App in my opinion shows more reliable progress. Here is an example: my case number is 864, in lookup mode I found CRI-89 cases 857, 850, 849, 839, 837 and so on. All of them like my case had status “Case received September 20, 2016”. That was a couple days ago. Yesterday cases 857 and 839 changed to “New card is being produced”. So, it must be VSC filers, who else? Meaning my own case is not so far from the decision. At least that what I tell myself to keep up hopes.

Are these apps were officially released by USCIS? I'm not if it safe to use it since I dont heard any news that USCIS have an app to monitor your case.

I might be wrong but I havent heard such thing.

Hello, everyone,

Apparently, I got the biggest shock of my life today after talking with very kind USCIS officer. Previously I mentioned that my I-751 was approved on September 22, 2017. However, I did not get any approval notice or green card till date even though the online status said it was mailed to me. So I decided to call USCIS today to get the tracking number for GC. My call was transferred from L1 to L2 officer as they have more information on their system. Officer asked for the receipt number so I gave him the one that I had from biometric letter through which we can track status because the other one is untraceable on case status website. Behold as the officer told me that my name is not matching with the receipt number and I am like it is impossible:shocked: . Since there was a mismatch with the application, he asked me few more questions along with A number to verify my identity and then he put me on a brief hold to find out what is going on. After waiting for 1-2 mins, he got back to me and said I had the wrong receipt number to begin with. He told me that last three digits were switched, e.g 358 vs 538. I was tracking with 358 while the actual one was 538. So in reality my application is still pending at CSC. I really did not know what to say further so thanked him for his time and hung up.

So close, so far:crying:

If anyone can please mark my application as pending on the list? Thanks!

Hi there,

Is your case of I 751 still in pending? Thanks.

Any updates from CSC? I am new here. Nice to see everyone here.

Nada so far :/

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 28th 2016: Package delivered

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

No, these are not official USCIS apps. I don't think an official USCIS app even exists.

However it does not mean these apps are not safe to use. The only personal information required (in the Spinach App) is your citizenship. Well, I do not consider case number or case status a personal information, since anyone can look it up at the USCIS website.

The Aries App asks no personal info at all. You don't have to register in the app, you can put literally any case number in the Lookup menu.

Both Apps retrieve information about status of your and neighboring cases from the USCIS website. You can do the same by yourself - just manually input consecutive previous case numbers and see their status and what form (CRI-89 or others) they are applied to. It will take tremendous amount of time though, hence the convenience of the App which does it for you in seconds. And you can see all the neighboring cases status displayed on the same page.

Talking about these apps... I think I figured out why the Spinach App shows in updates some random cases from June and July. Because it is also displays the country of citizenship in the updates, my guess is the App presents updates only for cases registered in the App. So, the statistical sample is much decreased comparing to the actual number of all cases being processed by USCIS.

Anyway, I decided to stick to the Aries App, especially since now, many thanks to Nikkosan, I can track specifically VSC cases.

They are not connected to any database. The app is simply entering case numbers to USCIS website in sequential order and showing you results. The only difference is that the app can do 500 cases in 1 minute, while it will take a human 5 hours. Those apps not any safer/more dangerous than USCIS website itself.

Also, don't play with those apps too much in a single day (over a 1000 cases) as USCIS will temporarily block your IP (for about 24 hours) - if this does happen and you still need to check something, simply switch to a different device or connect to different Wi-Fi (this will change your IP)

Looks like to me, all the information that these apps provided is not legit if its not connected to any USCIS database. In the world of technology, you cannot have an accurate and legit information if the system or apps is not connected to the legit source like the USCIS, specially if the creator of these apps were not officially from USCIS and not release by USCIS, so it's not safe to use since there are many hackers and scammers. Just my two cents.

In the world of technology, you cannot have an accurate and legit information if the system or apps is not connected to the legit source like the USCIS, specially if the creator of these apps were not officially from USCIS and not release by USCIS, so it's not safe to use since there are many hackers and scammers. Just my two cents.

Yes and no. I guess I can agree with the statement that it has to be "connected" to the source of information, however the source is public.

When you enter your case number to the official website of USCIS (link above) it send you the "answer" with your case update. The way those apps works is they simply do it for you. Let's say your case number is EAC1700500000 (obviously I am using random number), so what this app will do is enter each case separately from EAC170050000 to EAC1700500500 (they can do maximum 500 at the time). The app entering those cases to the same USCIS website that you do manually, its just the app can enter those numbers way too faster and then compile the results in informative manner. Results from those apps is just as legit as results from USCIS site (and yes, many people reported that USCIS website having delay up to two weeks)
