I know! If it weren't for the fact that we're both teachers (and thus had to be in our new city before school started) I would have wanted to wait as well! Well... hoping for the best, anyway!

It's ridiculous. A) because they make us pay hundreds to replace it due to their mistake and 2) it opens us up to ID fraud possibly somehow (maybe?).

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I've been putting off moving until I get this card because I don't want the people who move into my future former apartment to receive it and just keep it or toss it out. USCIS are notoriously bad at updating addresses when a petition or application is pending.

I wish I could delay too. We are expecting a child, so we absolutely HAVE to move out from our small one-bedroom apartment in to something more spacious.

There is a USPS service "Forward Mail" that allows you to forward all you mail and packages to a new address for up to a year (first for 6 months, and then it can be extended for additional 6 months). I am planning to use it. However, since I don't trust USPS, and fortunately we are just moving to a bigger apartment in the same complex, I am also planning to leave a note for future residents and kindly ask them to let me know if they receive a USCIS letter addressed to my name. People are generally understanding, so it might work too.

Yes, we've done that, but unfortunately USCIS mail is usually specifically marked "Do Not Forward" - if it goes to the wrong address it's supposed to just be returned to USCIS. And then it's gone. They don't let you know that something was returned (even though they have email/phone) - it's just ridiculous!

So if USCIS is approving/RFE-ing/sending interview notices to people around your NOA date, phone the call center and check to see if anything has been sent to you, and doublecheck that they have your correct address attached to your file.

Oh. Thank you for the information! I had no idea that USCIS mail has this mark.

This is getting... more and more complicated. I almost feel like talking to my husband to postpone the move and baby will be perfectly okay sleeping on a balcony :D

Well, I guess we will just keep calling USCIS for updates when it comes to this.

I wish USCIS would send notification via text or email to inform applicants about RFE or Interview notice. They do notify you if your case is approved why not for interview and RFE because on this VJ thread some people missed the interview and RFE notice and then got denial letter in the mail after some time. This is absolutely terrible that people don't know where is their mail and USCIS don't care about anything they just want their money.

Hi everyone,

I've been quickly following the forum quietly for a while now. I finally registered to share my impatience and frustration with you all.

I am a VSC filer, with the receipt date of 9/27/2017 and notice date 10/07/2017 filing from NJ.

I have not heard anything since my biometrics last year and like others, my online status is still "Case Received". As people started receiving approvals in August I hope that I would receive it as well. I recently moved and notified USCIS so I am not sure if that's delaying the process. Also, I believe I read someone else from NJ not having heard anything yet - so it might be a state level thing.

I've been traveling with the extension letter with no problem, actually I just came back from a business trip a week and a half ago. But my GC expires 10/22 and my next business trip is 11/04 so I made an infopass appointment. I hope they don't make any problems with giving me a stamp at the appointment but it sounds like majority of people had no problem with that thus far.

Yes, you can extend your driver's license. It depends on a state whether you get extension thru the expiration date on your I-551 stamp in the passport, which you will get at Infopass, or for longer period.

I wanted to share, there's an app called USCIS Case Status. This app sends you notifications on "similar" cases when they get approved. In other words, without doing anything after you have set it up, you'll receive notifications on I-751 approved today and you can see what service center they were at, on what date I-751 was filed and nationality of a filer. Basically, it's the information received in real-time mode. For example, today CSC approved few I-751 from 07/08/2017. Also VSC received RFE for 4 cases filed on 07/05/2016. So we know where they stand at.
