Oh I see.. I live in CA, the Bay area..

I wish it was available here though! =/

Anyway, we'll see how long this is gonna take..

Cheers!

I have been using USPS Informed Delivery for few months its been working fine until a few days ago. I just checked it and its working fine again. Over the weekend it was not working because of the adverse weather conditions and I got the same message "Service Temporarily Unavailable" but it's working pretty good now.

Are you a New York City resident? I live in Manhattan. I filed my petition on Sep 19, 2016 and have not heard of USCIS decision on my case. It's been almost a year. I wonder if it takes this long for those who live in New York City.

I live in New Jersey ...

I filed my petition to VSC on 09/06 and had my bio done on 10/17, still waiting ...

I have a question on card creation and mailing.  For those who've tracked their cards in myUSCIS.  How many days did it take to receive the card after receiving the notice "New Card Is Being Produced?"  Will there be a notice indicating the card was actually mailed?

Who knows, but I cannot imagine how we would not be in the approve easily pile... We have had co-mingling of fund (joint account) for over 5 years, we actually printed all 5 years of accounts, with the bank issuing a verified statement, shared utility bills for more than 7 (printed out), even our home-owners insurance. We've been together for 14 years. We are both gainfully employed, graduate school degrees, letters of endorsements from new people, as well as those that wrote letters during the original application. We have photos spanning all 14 years, including her family visiting us in the States, families co-mingling, and vacations with friends and family, us traveling abroad and to her home country, our wedding, and numerous wedding parties we did afterwards, we even have 7-8 years worth of holiday cards, wedding invites, baby showers, etc. letters addressed to both of us since 2010 (we only got married in 2015). I suspect that sending that much stuff may be part of the issue. Once officer at USCIS receives your case, it seems logical that s/he must actually read every document you supplied (and, potentially, look for discrepancies). Doing otherwise (i.e. ignoring documents provided by the petitioner) seems both procedurally incorrect, and potentially against the law.

If case documentation is vast, time to process it may be proportionate. I.e. - there may be a "golden middle" past which point additional documentation may hurt, not help. Pure speculation on my part, of course :)

That's actually an interesting perspective, it may be the case. I guess none of us are really sure what their process is. They may just read enough, up-to satisfaction, or do try and find discrepancies. Who knows, figuring out the "golden middle" sounds like a tough exercise. May be case agent specific too...

Just now came out of infopass appointment. Very easy process here in kansas city. The immigration officer was super sweet. He sounded apologetic for CSC being backed up with cases and us having to wait. Just before me couple of others who filed around the same time as me got their stamp. He stamped my passport for an year from today and told me that my case pending like most cases but we should hear from uscis soon. But the i551 stamp with the expired greencard & extension letter is good for travelling until i receive my 10 year green card. He didnt take my greencard. Now that i have the stamp i will let uscus take its own time and process my case. I will not worry about it. Everything will happen in its perfect time. Happy to interact with a super sweet IO. :)

Hello Peeps, a repetitive question I suppose, but still here it is--My everything expires October 28th.  I-551, is it only for traveling abroad or it is an extension paper for the 1-year extension we were given when our GC expired?

Well I got my passport stamp.  It was a long wait, lots of solitaire on my phone. I have to remember that they don't like knitting needles and bring a book.

It was easy, they didn't take my green card. But it was discouraging. The gentleman looked at my dates said 'i'll give you a 6 month stamp because that should be plenty of time - these things should only take a year'.  Then I sat down and waited while he did some digging. In the end  he gave me a year 'just in case it's needed'.  because 'hopefully that will be enough time to get it processed'.

Sigh.

On the plus side, Sept 2018 until I have to worry again. Of course I may just work on my naturalization first. Sigh.

Hello , another question again, sorry that i forgot this one before.  Q:  For that stamping, can you go alone or you need your spouse with you?

Alone is fine.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Hi,

I called USCIS today and requested to speak with a L2 Immigration Officer to follow up on the decision of my pending I-751. The immigration officer was very friendly and polite. First, she apologized for a delay on my case as she said the office is working to clear the backlog of applications at California Service Center. She reassured me that there is nothing wrong with my case and no need to send in more documents. The immigration officer then told me to go ahead and file for N-400 (which I have done already last week) as she said it should not be any negative effects on my pending I-751. I thus want to share my experience with USCIS with you all today and especially those who are still waiting for their I-751 to be adjudicated.
