Just got a call from my lawyer. He received my approval notice. I ask my wife to see if the mail guy has gone by. He hasn't yet but I should be getting letter soon. I don't know when it was approved no updates online yet. Will keep you guys posted! :D

Congratulations to fellow VSC people and as for us CSC peeps, It looks like, will get it mid November and after??

 

And thank you also for all those infopass information, i am gonna need it.  And I hope our GC comes before 2017 end because its gonna be three years, haven't gone back home and every additional day is making me sad :( .

hi guyz,

 

 I just received my 10 year green card. I arrived in US on spouse visa in oct, 2014 and my wife is an U.S Citizen. Now i am going to apply for my  citizenship. I have few questions:

 

1-Can i go abroad after applying citizenship?

2-I am living with my in-laws, i don't have any  lease or any utility bills on my name.

3- I have only tax returns papers,my green card

 

what are the other documents can i send with my package?

I've just completed my N-400 forms and went via this checklist when gathering documents.

This list is on the older side as the photographs are not needed now. 
In my application I put anything that had both our names on them. Ie, 3 tax returns, insurance cards/statement, car finance details, joint credit card, pay stubs listing same address as hubby, green card etc. 
I found it surprising that it doesn't ask for the kitchen sink like they usually do LOL. Good Luck.

So I've been reading this forum for a while now and let me say you guys have been very helpful during this stressful journey.

My NOA is 9/19/16 got a RFE in the mail today dated 8/16/17 :( so now my husband and I are trying to get documents together to send as soon as possible. I just have a 2 questions..

-We're a relatively young couple and have a few accounts jointly..like car insurance, car loan, credit card statements, checking account, lease, life insurance(which I've sent in). We've only filed taxes together jointly 1 year and couldn't do it again after that( long story), we don't have our health insurance together( cheaper on our own thru our jobs)..so my question is what else can I send in to prove our marriage was entered in good faith? Should I send them a full statement on all our accounts for the past 2 years? Along with pictures of us? And also the affidavits. I've pretty much sent in all we have. 

- Second Question: how long does it normally take them to review the evidence and make a decision? Seeing how backed up they are and how it took for them to even touch our file will it be another case of waiting months to even a year for us to hear back for them? 

Any help is appreciated thanks!
