Hi  Everybody,

I hope this is related to the topic of discussion. I received my Green Card a few weeks ago. Today I received a letter telling me that the card I received contains incorrect information and must be replaced; and, asking me to mail the card to the following address:

Eastern Forms Center

PO Box 567

Williston VT 05495-9986

Has anybody experienced this? I just want to make sure I'm responding a genuine request and sending my Green Card to a genuine address for a genuine purpose. Any input is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

My card had an incorrect "Resident Since" date (along with several other people) which I noticed myself, and am in the process of getting replaced. It's a long process unfortunately, with a few different ways of doing it by all accounts. While I didn't initially deal with 'Eastern Forms Center', I have mail arriving today, and the scan on USPS shows that it's from the 'Eastern Forms Center', so I would say that the request you got is genuine 👍 If you want to verify it, then you can always contact USCIS in the form of a Service Request on the dhs website 👍

Thank you for your reply. I was going to contact USCIS, but then realized that you can always get quick replies and more accurate information from VJ than from Immigration Offices of so called richest country on earth. What a shame!  Thanks to people like you this long and ridiculous journey has been a bit bearable. I think I should be more active here and try to help others...

Anyway, I'll go ahead and send my card out to the USCIS and wait for another a couple of hundred years to get my Green Card or whatever the cucumber they have to send me... Thanks again!

Hahaha! No problem. I left notifications for this thread on, specifically so that I could try to help people that are still ongoing with the process/are having additional issues. VJ has been a God send 👍 There were quite a few of us that received GC's with an incorrect 'Resident Since' date, so you're not alone - We figured it was a bad batch. Some have filed an i-90 (current processing time is approx 14 months) and others filed an SR online, and were given instructions to return the GC to an address in CA, with it marked 'expedited due to USCIS error'. I have no idea how long it will take. Yesterday I went to my local office for another stamp - They gave me a year this time vs six months last time. They were happy with the process I had taken for returning and getting a replacement card... They couldn't tell me how long it would take. But they gave me a year stamp, so it seems they weren't thinking anytime soon haha! Ugh... BUT, we have at least been approved - This is an inconvenience, but it's nothing in the grand scheme of USCIS. So I guess it's just a waiting game for now.

I will continue to update my situation on this thread and my timeline, so that others can see my experience. It would be great if you could do the same 👍😊

Bfpxx and dinodesilva. I think you should go to uscis website, click on news and read what they have posted on the website on the 16th. They are calling over 8400 cards that were issued with incorrect resident since dates. They are replacing them for free, even the stamped envelope provided, and done withing 3 weeks. So it's not all that bad. Good luck

@BFP XX, @AHMILWAUKEE and myself were instructed to send our cards back to CSC about a month ago. We're waiting on them to re-print our cards. I just got my pre-paid envelope today but have no card to put into it :D

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hi guys,

I am traveling outside of the US in about 40 days. Do you guys think I should trust they will send back the card by then or if I should take other steps? This is so tiring.

If you're going to send it back in then you will need to obtain a stamp to be able to come back into the country. If you happen to already have a stamp in your passport that will be valid beyond your return date, then use that. Otherwise, personally, I would use that card to come back into the US after the trip and then send it back to the PO Box on the letter with the correct postage (since the free postage only lasts 20 days past the postmark on the letter). Otherwise, you can drop your card off at your local field office when you come back, but that probably requires an infopass appointment which is hard to get in a lot of areas.

I just picked the letter up from my mailbox, and it's the same letter that you received - Advising me that there is an error on my GC. As I have already sent my GC back to USCIS, I have emailed them at the email provided to inform them of this. The letter does state a 3 week turn around, so I'm hoping that they will now be able to process mine with everyone else's, and we should have the new GC's in hand in a few weeks! :)

I wouldn't risk it - You can make an info pass appt at your local office and get a stamp in your passport which is good for travel  If the new GC arrives before then, then great, if not you're covered.

Nobody knows when you will get your new card. In the letter I received it says 3 weeks. It might be a typo (who knows!). It might take 30 weeks. Get a stamp on your passport before you travel.
