Keeping bumped. @LiliDeyan any news?

I had InfoPass on Wednesday because my stamp expires on 4/18/2018 and I got new stamp till 10/8/2018. The person who gave me the stamp was not helpful at all. He said that my case was never transferred and is still in California. I asked him about the dhs account emails with different dates and the check status websites dates and why they differ and he had no idea why. I asked if someones looking at my case right now and he said that it looks like mine is still in the waiting but I "...should get an approval or date for an interview soon since they are working on September fillers right now...You will get it for sure before the date on your new stamp...:ranting:"

they all are disrespecting us with all those waiting times, computer errors, and printing errors.

I'm sorry that you got no information about your case. Hopefully by you going in there and asking, it might prompt your case to be looked at.
I got 3 case transfer status updates last week alone. I thought they were messing with me but today I got the first of the hard-copy letters in the mail.
Due to being in Washington state, I sent my ROC to CSC. My transfer letter said that my case was transferred to CSC. That might explain why I got 2 more transfers after that.
So, I'm with you...  :ranting:

Question: I used a lawyer to file the initial i751 petition but received an RFE... can I go ahead and file the response myself? The lawyer did a shitty job of preparing the initial application (charged $1700) and now wants another $1000 to prep a response.  I feel we've done a better job thanks to this forum.

get another lawyer or do it yourself.  This is low for sure, an RFE should be part of a $1700 fee.

I know right? Another 1000 is crazy...plus if they had done their job right we'd probably not have gotten a RFE...anyway we've already prepped a response...I just want to know if there's a form we need to fill out that says the lawyer won't rep us. I saw a mention of a letter to uscis that we need to write but can't find a specific format.

You're right, it seems to me that the RFE is just the last push to get across the line.  Do it well, assume the burden of proof on you always and do more than you think you should and I think you'll be ok.  Ask some questions on this board and get all the info you need.  If your RFE is successful its all done in a week to tens days from the cases I've seen in this thread.

- credit card statements and payment via joint account

- drivers licenses showing joint address

- house deed

- utility bills showing payment via joint account

- photos with family

- travel/event tickets

- life/health insurance

I despair at these lawyers, I really do  an RFE is totally on them and should be free

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Wow, don't forget to leave them a review at avvo to help other people not to choose that lawyer. RFE is a part of initial ROC fee. Not to mention the whole idea of getting a lawyer for ROC is to make sure you won't get one.

Maybe consider creating your own thread here to see how to remove the lawyer from your file, I don't think you need one for the list of evidences you provided

good luck

Exactly the only reason we hired a lawyer was to ensure we didn't get a RFE!  I was soo pissed when they were like oh no big deal it ll be another 1000!

We've prepped a comprehensive package and won't be getting a lawyer this time.

I would honestly report them because they probably did this on purpose in order to charge you again. Any lawyer worth their salt would not get you an RFE to begin with and in the unfortunately even they did, would not make it out to be your fault or problem to fix.

I just checked my USCIS account and saw that it's updated to say they scheduled me for biometrics. The letter hasn't been uploaded yet. Was hoping they'd waive the requirement given the circumstances.

That is a long time ago. Did you check the status of your application on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/?

Oh I just created an account and logged in and saw this notice:

February 15, 2018

We mailed your card to you. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver it.

You do not need to do anything at this time

The post office will deliver your card to your current mailing address. If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

If you do not receive your card by March 17, 2018, send us a case inquiry and select that you did not receive your card by mail.

==============================================================================

So I just submitted a case inquiry and got an email saying to expect a response by May 8th!

I'm so confused about how long can postal service take.. this's so weird..

I want to thank you so much for telling me about creating a uscis account!

At least one can see the updates :)
