Mine is also wrong then - It says Resident since: 3/15/18. I did think it was odd that it didn't state 2014, but the card is for 10 years, so I figured that might be why? Do we need to make them aware of this error and get it fixed, or will it not matter?

Anyone else who can confirm the date on theirs?

No guys, that's how the date is supposed to be.  It again resets to Day 0 because that is Permanent Resident since .....Before that, we were just  residents Temporary :) (Throwable).

I'm not sure about that at all... Most people received cards with the 2014 date, only a few of us received them with the 2018 date. I don't think it matters that the original PR date was conditional, we were still all made PR's in 2014. From what I've read online, it should read the 2014 date, and is an error that needs fixing, for it to be correct, and for it to not cause any issues at citizenship time. But I did place a SR and will hear back by the end of April, so I'll let you know what they tell me.

In Citizenpath website, it says "Your time as a permanent resident begins on the date you were granted permanent resident status. This date is on your Permanent Resident Card (also known as a green card)." If that is so then may be we have the correct card.  If not, Hello!!! anyone out there wants to post a pic of their date being different??? Thaank you :)

And also for more clarity, i came across these debates:  Even though these are old dates, our cases seems to be same:

Yes, that thread also states that the date you become a PR is the date of your i-485 approval. I am eligible for citizenship now, like everyone else is... Because I have been a PR since 2014. But according to the date on my new GC, I only became a PR last month, so I won't be eligible for another 3 years... Which is incorrect.

I would love it if you are correct - Because the wait time for the correction is approx a year from submission of an i-90 form, but from other threads I've read, and given that many others have their original PR date on their new GC, it is very likely an administrative error.

FML :)  i've been waiting for last 8 months to get a CDL driving licence  ( i need it for work) and i couldn't get it because i need green card in my hand ( not letter, or stamp in my passport) and now i see i also got 2018 as a date i became permanent resident. If i'm gonna have to file I-90 and wait for another year to have my GC replaced i'm F....d :)  so for now i'm just waiting how this is gonna end up. Worst scenario i can loose my job, so probably i'm just gonna leave my GC and wait 5 years to apply for citizenship. i could kick someones A.s.s

I'm going to see what the result of my SR is... If it's to file an I-90 (which I think it will be) then I will make an info pass appt at my local office to discuss it with someone in person. I am hoping that they say that it's okay to use this GC while waiting on the new one, but I don't want to just go ahead and knowingly use it with an error and it caused problems for applying for Citizenship.

This is so frustrating.

Re: wrong resident since date on GC for this recent batch (myself included).

My lawyer said it is a misprint and a Government error:

So, his advice was:

1. file an I-90 with no fee because of govt error and have no GC for a year because of huge back-logs.

OR

2. file citizenship and it will probably get dealt with then (Having old GC copy/I-485 approval docs etc).

Both are not great at all.  Take your pick really.

Having no GC for another year, or the potential for a tough situation down the line at citizenship interview.

I was advised by Hypnos that filing the I-90 online means we don't have to send the card back. Maybe they ask for it later, who knows. I'm all for getting it corrected. So far all I had to do was upload the front and back of the card and also some supporting evidence (copy of the front of my CR-1 green card and my visa + entry stamp is all I used). I then realized maybe the person who gets to the case won't know ####### is wrong with it so I uploaded a screencap of some words I typed out explaining the issue.

I'm hoping they'll realize they screwed up an entire batch (thousands?) of cards and work to rectify this without prompting. Probably too optimistic!

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

Ugh... so helpful. I just went to egov and my SR is with an officer - assuming they will also send a generic response to me.

This sounds like good news! At least there's a chance of expediting it, and it not being another whole year to wait 👍I will await my SR response... Hope it's the same as yours, and it sounds like we have to complete a physical i-90 form rather than the online application? Maybe expediting isn't an available option online... Maybe because everyone would just click to expedite. This is a nice backdoor way to tell us how to get their mistake fixed up a little quicker 👍

I have a receipt notice coming to me in the mail acknowledging my I-90 application. I'll be getting a biometrics notice soonish. Since I submitted it online, I'll sit back and wait out the 12 months and hope to God they don't screw up the next card or I may just give up on it.

My SR is with an officer as of yesterday but I'm sure they will provide the same response as above.
