Hello,

**Oct Filer here**

So I am working to collect documentation for the RFE I received and have a  few questions:

  1. Did you all provide bank statements for every month since marriage?
  2. What do you do if the utility bills/other bills are not in both of our names?

It depends on your circumstances. For me, I came in on a CR-1 about a year and a half after we married, so we could only provide evidence from when I moved here. If you came in on a K-1, then they would likely want to see evidence going as far back to your marriage date as possible. If you couldn't get a joint account right away then explain why.

We didn't have joint utilities but we showed in our bank statements that we contribute half each towards every bill and pay them all from that account.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

You can track it through "informed delivery" courtesy of USPS. There is a package from USCIS that will be delivered to me tomorrow. I am guessing it is my 10 years GC.

When me and hubby got married, neither of us had a job and we lived with my in laws..so I did not have much..I just provided with whatever fee bank statements we had..and affidavits from family members..and I showed them copies of drivers licenses suggesting we all live together at the same address..

I can get the bank statements no problem (just need to dig up stuff from 2014 )

As for utilities - i can def show that everything is being paid from our joint account.

Ah ok. I have bank statements from the year we got married. I hadn't attached a drivers license but I can do that now.

I can only get daily emails from USPS. Whenever I try and log in, it says account disabled and it won't let me create a new one because I can't verify my identity 😑

Yeah, my informed delivery says it shipped yesterday and will be here from Kentucky tomorrow.  Visa journey, more like Visa Odyssey! See you all in the N400 room later this year I guess, I'm going to file next week.

Well, I don't know if this is related or helps you feel better.

My mum got her 10-year green card late November 2017, and the approval letter came in the mail 2 days ago.

She already traveled places before the letter itself came LOL

Her DHS account shows XX/XX/2015 "we received your case" then "XX/XX/2017 the card is mailed to you"

My guess is they are super random and unreliable, you will get it just in one random day when you check the mail. Don't be too worried :) xx

I managed to verify my identity during a second attempt and I can see my card will be delivered tomorrow too 😊
