OKay guy, for those of you who were interested  in knowing if filing for N400 actually delay or speed the processing of your green card, here is my experience. I filed for N-400 and it resulted to a speedy processing of my green card. I was approved on Feb. 8th and my green card stuck in “card is being produced” status for over a month. Since the card production was delaying, I went right ahead and apply for citizen on March 20th using the online service. After applying online, the next day, my n400 case status changed to case is being reviewed. On the 23rd, I received two notifications one stating that my biometric appointment is being mailed and the other stating that my new card is being mailed. Both notifications were produced and mailed out the same time. Therefore, I personally concluded that the n400 might have triggered the speedy production of my green card.

Well in your case it certainly seemed to have been great timing and yes, it did benefit you with filing citizenship. Filing online is also the fastest way of filing n-400 also. Online filers are seeming to get priority.

In my case, filing n-400 slowed everything down. Sept 2016 ROC, Sept 2017 N-400 paper filer. Maybe it's due to having 4 ROC applications in for myself and my children, who knows. ROC still no word from and Seattle is backlogged 12 - 15 months for N-400 processing. Yes, I'm already 6 months into the N-400 cue, but it seems that from my service requests, USCIS also are not sure of when my applications will be adjudicated due to combining them.

So, I may never see the 10 yr green cards and may have to wait another 6 - 9 months before I get the interview for combined applications.

With saying all that, yes I believe filing n-400 online after ROC is approved is definitely the way to go.

Hello all,

For those who applied for N-400 with I751 pending in CSC. I have some questions:
- how was the N400 interview ? They required more documents ? The spouse presence was necessary ?

I know i could ask it on N400 forum, but my questions is related to I751 delay and both processes being together.
Thank you

As for the n400 interview and documents required, you can find some reviews in the n400 threads.

if you have a combined interview, you will need to take your spouse. They have to process your ROC before doing n400. Your spouse will be asked to leave the room while they give you the test for n400.

Hope this helps you.

Hello Everyone,

I received an email from uscis stating that on March 28, 2018 the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until September 28, 2018. Please go to uscis to resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by September 24, 2018, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new I751, petition to remove residence, with fee.

We called uscis and talked to tier 2 rep and told us maybe check with our Post Office. We went there immediately and we told them we didn't even have any body knocking on the door or a door receipt to retrieve any document. The tier 2 rep did not tell if it's a green card nor specifics document was sent. We checked and verified with uscis with regards to correct address.

My I751 receipt notification was September 22, 2016 and biometrics November 10, 2016. We just did the request online to resend us the document, got a request ID number and expect a reply April 18, 2018.  We feel totally anxious.

Okay, so it most likely is not your green card, as you would have received an approval notice in the mail first. And it's not likely the approval notice, as I don't think that they would notify you that you would have to reapply for I-751, if you had just not received the approval letter.

Did you ever receive a Request For Evidence (RFE)? I don't know for sure of course, but it looks like maybe they sent you an RFE and if you responded to that RFE, maybe they didn't receive your RFE package? Or maybe they sent you an RFE, but you never received it? And therefore never responded to it?

To date we did not received an RFE. Currently we are guessing what would be included in that document, hoping that will shed light to this. Hope April 18 for response is soon. I will put detailed and updates as soon as I get it. Sleepless nights for us.

Do you have an account for this website?

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

If not, make one and enter your receipt number and see what it says. Put both numbers in that was on your biometrics notice. Let us know.

Call update: CSC hasn't made much movement since Feb and still processing applications from Sept 2016.

Was told to wait about another month (funny, that's what I was told when I had called in Feb). Back to waiting.
