Received my green card in the mail yesterday! All set! And maybe one day I will apply for citizenship.. but after this taking so long (we had a child since I sent off the paperwork and he's now 17 months old) I'm  going to take a break.

I wouldn’t think so - they say it takes up to 60 days after approval to receive it :) good luck !

Oh my god..I hope I get a decision..I didn’t even file for n 400!

Do you know if you can renew your passport with a uscis pending case? I know it’s possible but I need to provide details of my receipt no. If a case is pending and a copy of the I 797.

But the I 797 extension letter has expired as well.

And my next question is..if I get an I 551 stamp on my passport which is about to expire in August and renew and get a new passport. Would the stamp be valid if I carry the old passport as well? (I’ll be traveling in June)

does the 6month valid passport for entry into the US apply to permanent residents as well?

Hey, I renewed my passport while this was pending last year. It took almost five months for the passports to come back.  And I carry both passports because the old passport has that entry sticker (even though it is not needed) and I just don't want to give anyone unnecessary space to question me.

I-797 expired?? No problem.  Copied:  I-551 is an evidence that a person is admitted to live in the U.S. as a permanent resident"  They gave us the I-551 stamp to replace it and  as you are traveling in June.  If you are sure enough you are coming back before infopass expires, i don't see  problem at all.  You can get into US territory with 1 day of expiry date remaining.

UPDATE: So I got my physical RFE in the mail yesterday - It seems like they want me to provide evidence of a good faith marriage since the beginning of our marriage....the same tax docs, pics, utility bills, insurance stuff etc...back to collecting evidence :(

Did everyone who got approved submit evidence since the time they got married?

i was away from the forum for a while but i got and RFE couple weeks ago to prove good faith marriage too. Also i don't think i mentioned it but i filed with a divorce waiver so i sent many evidences in the first package.

Later i sent all the documents they stated in the RFE and i've been waiting since. They received my packet on March 13th.

What visa did you come in on? If a K-1 then you will need to provide proof since your marriage (or as far back as possible). If a CR-1, did you live together prior to you moving here? I submitted evidence from when I moved here on my CR-1 visa because prior to that, we weren't living together and the only evidence I had was a trip I made to visit my husband a couple of months before I got the CR-1.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

I was already in the US when we got married...I'm thinking they want evidence since the day we got married.

Hello Mohitj,

My case was approved on March 8, 2018 and my NOA was Oct. 3rd, 2016. I did not submit papers since the time that I was married.

However, I sent all the documents like bank statements, mortgage, insurance etc from the date that I got my 2 years green card to the time that I submitted the application.

04-24-2006 I started to work in the US with a TN-2 Visa.
I renewed my TN visa every year until the last TN visa on March 2014.
08-31-2013 I met the girl that is my wife now. A US citizen
January 2014. We decided to get married, so we got engaged.
03-05-2014 I renewed my TN visa in Mexico City. I declared that I was engaged.
06-21-2014 We got married.
06-22-2014 - 06-19-2014 Honey moon in Monterey CA.
07-01-2014 I moved officially to my new home.
08-14-2014 We sent the forms for AOS(I-130 and I-485) plus EAD (I-765) and advanced parole (I-131)
08-15-2014 USCIS got my package. (Day 1)
08-20-2014 USCIS sent me a text message that they got my case on 08-15-2014 (Day 5)
09-08-2014 Biometric appointment. (Day 23)
11-03-2014 Advance parole approved. (Day 80)
11-08-2014 I received by mail a combo card (EAD and AP) (Day 85)
