Actually, my case was approved on February 8th, and I got the approval letter  on February 12th and not on March 12th.

I m writing for the first time after silently reading all your comments . Question : Did any of you saw any difference by constantly calling and making inquiries about your cases ? Perhaps did your cases speed up ? I do not think so . By constantly calling and making inquiries we have pushed the processing time to 17-19 months, and now legally we’ll have to wait more . We are all in the same ship, this is nerve wracking ! Good luck everyone and let’s calm down .

Does this mean that they are processing case inquiries of date aug 31 or Only cases before aug 31 are allowed to make a case inquiry?

Oh I just read that again..looks like sept filers are within the normal processing range..thank goodness I filed for a case inquiry before this change was made..

Actually, there's a possibility that as a direct result of me calling to place an SR, my case was looked at and ultimately pushed for approval. There's no way for me to know for sure of course, that if I hadn't called, they may have approved it anyway. However, I literally just received an email from USCIS that states that they are responding to my SR, and that the results of the SR were as listed - We approved your case. I was already aware of this on 3/15.

 

So it may have made a big difference. I don't think there's anything wrong with contacting USCIS if you're out of their listed processing time 👍

Oh my god..I hope I get a decision..I didn’t even file for n 400! 

Do you know if you can renew your passport with a uscis pending case? I know it’s possible but I need to provide details of my receipt no. If a case is pending and a copy of the I 797.

But the I 797 extension letter has expired as well. 

 

And my next question is..if I get an I 551 stamp on my passport which is about to expire in August and renew and get a new passport. Would the stamp be valid if I carry the old passport as well? (I’ll be traveling in June) 

 

does the 6month valid passport for entry into the US apply to permanent residents as well?

As for the 6 months validity for your passport, again, dont quote me on it, but I think it applies to everyone from all countries and all legality statuses.

I agree, but cant argue the case. It could have been worse and they tell me: 

"Well we dug your file out of the back of the janitors closest. We tried to wipe off the cobwebs, but in doing so, we erased your information as we used bleach to remove the cobwebs. Sorry about the wait. Please refile with the updated form and another check and we'll make you wait another 18 months for a reply."

Yes, you can renew your passport with pending case. Your I-551 carries over the I-797. 
Dont quote me on it, but yes, your I-551 stamp is still valid even in an expired passport. As long as you carry your old and new passports with you, and when you get the chance, get another stamp in your new passport. 

As for the 6 months validity for your passport, again, dont quote me on it, but I think it applies to everyone from all countries and all legality statuses.

UPDATE: So I got my physical RFE in the mail yesterday - It seems like they want me to provide evidence of a good faith marriage since the beginning of our marriage....the same tax docs, pics, utility bills, insurance stuff etc...back to collecting evidence  

 

Did everyone who got approved submit evidence since the time they got married?

Hello Guys,

Can I use my Approval Letter to secure an employment as well as renew my driver license or do I need to go for a stamp at the nearest USCIS Local Office? My passport is expired, and I understood from one of VJ members that USCIS will not put a stamp in an expired passport.

Your approval letter should suffice as enough evidence to be able to secure employment and drivers licence. USCIS won't stamp an expired passport.
