Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I guess that would be receiving your biometrics appointment letter, then attending it. Then you just wait for either an RFE, an interview letter or an interview waiver. Then of course, the ten year GC when all of it is over.

Hi! and welcome..

Also for the bank accounts make sure you send them back to the month from the inception of marriage, they state that in the instructions that you need to send evidence from the date you got married, so make sure you have evidence dating back to the day you got married.

Also, do you have any house mortgages or deeds with both names on it? or apartment leases?

Any retirement accounts or health insurance accounts showing each other as beneficiaries?

Hey so I just wanted to point out for CR-1 visa entrants such as myself, we won't have much if any documents going right back to the inception of marriage. I just don't want people freaking out since there isn't much co-mingling you can do when you're thousands of miles apart lol.

I mean, we did try adding me to insurance plans, leases and accounts a few days after marrying but they told us to ####### off since I didn't have an SSN and/or US residency.

Ours is CR1 as well. I had to wait for 13 months after our wedding to get my visa. long wait. but we used to skype and whats app daily .And we sent each other money in times of need. He used to send me regularly and sometimes he couldnt and i used to help him financially in times of need. We added western union and paypal money transfers between us and crdeit card bank account statements showing the money transfers while i was waiting in my country for visa and my country bank signature cards and his us bank signature card copies showing each other as beneficiaries of our bank accounts plus lots of skype chat logs and trip tickets ,photos etc as evidence prior to me coming to US. After i came here i received my SSN and stateid within a few days and i was added to his bank accounts. we have sent all statements since i came to USA and became a joint holder. we sent 5.5 inches of documents involving everything that has both of our names. LOL. hopefully thats enough. lets see how long this gc approval takes.

Updated work around if you cant find Rich Text Editor


1. Make sure you are on the correct thread you want to add the post to.
2. At the top of the thread, you will find a blue button that says "Reply to this topic". Click it.
3. You will see your posting box. You don't need to alter any fonts or colors etc. One of the icons (top right hand side) is the editor options. Once clicked 2 boxes pop up. Make sure "Paste as plain text by default" is unchecked. (First time only. Setting will save)
4. Scroll down the page until you come across the first applicant date list. Copy and paste the list and relevant information and paste it in the editing box above. (I use the right mouse click button to copy text and right mouse click to paste. DO NOT "Paste as plain text" as it may not format correctly).
5. Your information in the editing box should look like the actual post with all lines and hyphens in line with each other.
6. If you are adding your name to the list, you need to add a line. Place cursor at the end of the last line and press enter. This continues the correct font and size. Enter information (your VJ name in CAPITALS) and be careful not to erase any other lines. If you are unsure if you have, click cancel button and start again.
7. To edit hyphens to add dates, find your line with your information on it and delete the hyphens and replace with date.
8. Lastly, if you added your name, make sure you put yourself in the right service center ie, Vermont or California. Remember to change the number of applicants depending on which service center your petition is at.
9. PREVIEW POST. Just to make sure everything looks right before posting. If it looks right, then "Add reply". You're done.

You are absolutely right :) ! I did an AOS from a B1/B2 tourist visa so I forget that detail sometimes!

Hey so I just wanted to point out for CR-1 visa entrants such as myself, we won't have much if any documents going right back to the inception of marriage. I just don't want people freaking out since there isn't much co-mingling you can do when you're thousands of miles apart lol.

I mean, we did try adding me to insurance plans, leases and accounts a few days after marrying but they told us to ####### off since I didn't have an SSN and/or US residency.

We sent our ROC package to vermont from Georgia , it was marked as recieved on 18/09/2016.. but till now we haven't received NOA1 :(. They haven't cashed the check yet.

Im really nervous .. maybe there a problem or missing info in the application :(:(

Pls help what can we do?

Hi there,

I'm due to submit Form I-751 to remove conditions from my green card. I understand that we have to submit the form 90 days before card expiration. My question is that while we wait or our new green card, what happens if it surpasses expiration date of our current one? I doubt that USCIS will have everything processed and my new green card sent within the 90 days before my current one expires. Will this affect my ability to work?

Thanks for the help in advance, I am somewhat in panic mode already.
