I485 Status changed after

Dear Friends,

We finally got an update on our i485 case after seven months of waiting to hear. After we initially submitted our application our status read bellow:

"On January 21, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status....."

Today my wife checked and it read:

"On September 2, 2016, we approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I wanted to ask you few questions. My wife came here on K1 visa.

1. My understanding is that they approved our application, does this mean that we will receive Green card or are there other steps/requirements needed at this point?

2. How long does it take to get the green card after the i485 application is approved?

Best regards.

I don't have an answer to your question and for that I am sorry for,. But I have the same receipt as you: MSC.
7 months? That sucks... like so much, I'm not even on my 2 month waiting time yet. (That'll be the 12th of this month.)

I'm currently on the stage of, "On June 08, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status....."

My lawyer BS'd me and said that the immigration and what have you would be so fast that I wouldn't need to apply for Advanced Parole, so she didn't apply.
I don't even know if it's too late to apply for AP.

I called USCIS and she said to call in November if I haven't heard anything and it's just so frustrating.

Congratulations to you though! You're almost there!

Many K-1 adjusters are approved without interview. Green card should come soon. See if there is tracking once you receive the notice that the card has been mailed. Congrats!
