When to expect the Visa after approval?

Anyone have experience about how long it takes to receive the visa after the interview is approved?

Does the embassy send it through the normal mail or EMS?

Or can we come pick it up after the interview? How many days later?

We are trying to plan for travel after the interview but I don't want to schedule our tickets for too soon...

Hi...

When we filled out one of the online forms (can't remember which one) we were asked if we wanted the passport delivered to Noom's home or if we wanted to pick it up. We selected delivery.

Noom's interview was on Wednesday, 9/7; he received his passport with visa and paperwork on Friday 9/9 afternoon. The visa was actually issued on Thursday 9/8. During the interview after he was told the visa was approved, the man told him he should expect to have it within 2 weeks...so 2 days was a wonderful surprise to me!

I left Thailand Thursday evening (Thai time). I had a layover in LA on the way home Thursday night...then a red-eye back to the east coast. Noom face-timed me while I was at LAX to show me the visa...and he was crying he was so happy.

  • 2020.03.08 -- Naturalization filing window opened
  • 2020.03.09 -- N-400 filed and feed paid online
  • 2020.03.14 -- Email/Text notifications received that biometrics appt scheduled
  • 2020.03.14 -- NOA of case receipt received via USPS
  • 2020.03.20 -- Biometrics appointment notification received via USPS
  • 2020.03.30 -- Received email notification that biometrics appt scheduled for April 2 canceled due to Covid19
