Hi I was just wondering if there should be a touch after the AOS interview? What are your experience with this? if so, how long after interview? Also for those who had interviews, did the officer take your I-94? I heard they don't always. I am just curious about it. Thank you all!!

After my initial shock after my interview, I am feeling much better. I know all I can do now is wait.

Once you have green card in hand the I-94 is no longer needed and can be removed, sometimes the interviewer removes it from the passport other times they don't. A holder of a green card would not have one in their passport since they are not a non-immigrant (Visitor), or would not have one when leaving the country.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Well there will be touches after your interview, as to when - that depends. Took a while for me, and I was approved at interview. Take a look at my sig.

Yes, my I-94 was taken, but as I said, I was approved at interview, so that is normal. They often don't take I-94 if you case is pending.

I was just concerned because I thought it was something negative that she did take his I-94 from his passport.

I.e. you were not approved at interview. Approval can only happen when you have passed namecheck, which is why the officer left the I-94 in your passport.

Jomo never even had an interview. Was approved by mail after just submitting AOS and biometrics. So, he still has his I-94 stapled in passport.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Errr... yes. Well its quite difficult for the interviewer to take the I-94 if there was no interview, eh? ;)

What I meant was the officer said we were approved per the interview, just waiting for the namecheck to come in. So, APPROVED PENDING NAME CHECK as some VJers put it.

When we had our AOS interview the AO did take Gary's I-94, but we didnt realize it until we had left. We weren't approved nor denied at the interview, he just said we will receive his decision by post. Interview was Nov 8, 2006, approval letter came Dec 19th 2006.

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1

If it makes you feel better to put it this way, fair enough. Its still not approval though, which is why you got to keep your I-94.
