Accepted Document Change for Honduras

This is just a heads up to people applying for visas in Honduras the accepted birth and marriage certificates have changed. The Expediente de Vida is no longer accepted. No forma literal is accepted. Just the Inscription de Nacimiento and the Inscription de Matrimonio. Confirmed with the supervisor. This changed a month ago while we were being reviewed, right after we submitted. Which is just the worst. The supervisor was actually really sorry, because we sent the right documents and still have to resend and we will lose 5 weeks for nothing, but maybe somebody else is compiling their IV packets with forma literals.

Note the website still says forma literal even though inscriptions are not forma literal.

Can you scan what you submitted so we have an idea of what these people are looking for? I have never seen such disorganization before in my life. They are particular with what they want but give no information on what they are looking for.

There is actually an example for the birth certificate on the NVC website. The marriage has the exact same format.

So just to be clear, you got a birth certificate from the RNP and it looked exactly like the example shown? I just want to make sure because I already have my in-laws running around for this in Honduras so I can have it ready. This is what I have already, plus the short form. You are saying this is no good?post-236095-0-67473500-1473880268_thumb.jpg

Nope. That is no good. That is what got rejected from us. If you check the website forma literal is gone from the birth certificate. Still there for marriage but its wrong. Yeah the RNP should be easy to get as its literally a scan of the birth and marriage folio. Took us a week though.

Thanks for all of this information, I really dont want to screw this up so, if you can just let me know exactly what you asked for. They actually gave us a photocopy of the page out of the actual folio from the office in Catacamas. Was the paper you got on any kind of official paper or letterhead, was it stamped and signed by an official. Or was it just a photocopy of the folio? Thanks so much again. This is really valuable information.

What year was your birth certificate from? Did this paper already exist or did they fill one out for you? I just want to make sure that this isn't a new form that did not exist when my wife was born in 1981.

This is exactly what they did for husbands paper too. The NVC received the package today, so I guess we have to wait and see if it is correct.

We are also at NVC. I actually haven't seen that paper. I assumed they were all like the example. NVC first reviewed us in 4 weeks. So we will find out soon!
