K1 Visa Process from Uganda to Georgia

Greetings everyone!

Thank you to everyone who is sending in updates. I am still looking for an interview experience review at the Nairobi embassy from someone who has recently been. If you are such a person, please share. My fiance and I are still patiently waiting for his October 11 interview. I finally finished the blog that documents our K-1 visa process. Glad to.find some people from Uganda. We are quite concerned as well, when we paid the fees and went online to.schedule appointment, only first available was Jan 11,our papers expire Dec 16. Anyone know what to do? Nairobi embassy seems packed. We didn't know it would be this way. Had plans to return to US before Xmas, hoping all goes well. Note:we r both in ug. I returned to be with him as we process this k1 then go together, God willing. Any help?

Greetings. Our papers also expire before our interview date. I emailed the consulate per instruction of an agent on the phone at the embassy. This is the reply I received back:

Dear sir/madam,

Thank you for your email.

Please note that the petition will automatically be extended by 60days upon expiry of the petition of September. The case will be open for processing when the applicant Mr. Solomon comes for his interview in September.

Apparently, the consulate extends the petition so you should have nothing to worry about in regards to this.

Thanks so much. We will be patient. We have been already...haha

However, they told us to keep checking te website over time. An earlier appointment could open, in cases where applicants cancel. We are doing just that. We really hope we can get one in December.
