Jeez.... where to begin?!?

I know that we haven't updated our info on this site for quite a while- work and life have conspired to make me neglect this site for a while...

We're currently going through the process of applying for the AOS and our case is pending... I think!

We had our interview last year at the Louisville DHS office, which went well (I think). Other than requiring an update to my medical records to reflect that I had contracted chickenpox in recent times, so I didn't require an immunisation (which was never available in the UK anyway), all we need now is an FBI name check...

Cut forward to January this year, when I contacted the customer service desk at USCIS since my application had gone beyond 60 days and I could enquire about the status. I was told that a request would be put into the Missouri centre to check on the progress and that I should receive written/typed notification within 30 days of that call...

So... nothing arrived. Well... something did. An automated email from the online automatic notification service in February, telling me that an interview had been descheduled. What interview? I'd never been told about another interview, so I just decided to allow USCIS a little more time to sort themselves out and I wrote the email off as a simple mistake.

Today, I called again to get the same response. I can't blame the customer service guys, since their hands are tied and they don't have any other info to pass onto me.

My current work authorization expires at the end of August this year and we didn't apply for another one, since we had it on good authority from a German co-worker that we should receive my Green card before this summer, so the money would be wasted...

Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone suggest what I should do next?

I am also post-interview and my online status states *this interview has been descheduled*, only ours was updated around a month after our interview. If you stay stuck in he fbi namecheck black hole 100 days prior to the expiration of your EAD and you want to keep working, apply for your renewal. No one can say how long anyone lasts in namechecks.

At least we aren't the only one to get that notice. I swear that the case workers just use that notification to bump any unwanted customer service references off their work load :(
