USPS, UPS or FedEx... What to use?

Hi,

Judester here again. I'm going to send the I-131/I-485 package out TODAY for my husband and his two sons and I would like to know what form of delivery is best. USPS, UPS or FedEx? I know there may be problems with any of these, but I'd like to get it there overnite and I think I'd like confirmation they received it in Chicago.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Post Office. Fex Ex and UPS do not deliver to PO Boxes.

I meant I-130/I-485 (even though the I-131s are in there too)!!!!

While ours was sent out from the atty's office, I do happen to know that he uses USPS Express Mail......you can track it and verify that it was received and is cheaper than Fedex and UPS.

We used USPS, it is the only one that will deliver to a PO Box, send Priority/Certified with Signature card. Overnight is just a wast of money, it wont make the process any faster, the only reason to overnight something is if there is a dead-line then next day.

USPS is more reliable. It may be slow sometimes, but, it's recognized by every government that sends stuff inbound/outbound internationally.

Correct, which is why they give you an alternative address to send to if you are using a non-USPS carrier.

I used FedEx, like I always do for important documents, because their tracking is accurate and frequently updated, unlike USPS. There was no problem. You have to use the LaSalle address on the front of the I-485 if you use FedEx however.

Honestly, if you want it overnighted, and know for certain its been delivered tomorrow, then FedEx is your best bet, IMHO. USPS might overnight, but you won't get a delivery confirmation for a few days, as their tracking website is shockingly poor. With FedEx you will know within minutes of it being delivered, assuming you obsessively check the FedEx tracking website!

So for obsessive people FedEx is the great. For the rest of us it makes no differrence.
