Hello everyone,

Its good to be back on this forum. Yesterday my wife completed a year and 9 months living in the US.

Well we almost have all the information gathered to submit to USCIS in Vermont. I just had a couple of questions:

We got married legally in Ecuador back in Sept of 04. In November of 06 we got married in a Catholic Church. I will be submitting the marriage certificate we received from the church. Now, should the certificate of when we got married legally also be sumitted?

Will there be a problem if I submit a copy of my wife's resident card (front and back) on the same page?

Thank you all for your time

Giovanni

Only the marriage certificate of when you got married legally in 2004 is required. You cannot get married twice "legally", so the Catholic wedding ceremony was just a ceremony in the eyes of the USCIS. If you send the marriage certificate from the Catholic wedding, I do believe it will cause confusion. If it were me, I would not send the marriage certificate from the Catholic wedding.

Submit the copy of the PR card on a separate page.

Thanks. I will be submitting the marriage certificate from the church because it will further prove our relationship.

Just in case, I will include the marrige certificate from Ecuador which states we were married in the City Hall.

I understand the Permanent resident card should be on a separate page. My question was if putting a copy of the front and back of the PR card on the same page would be an issue.

Thanks

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood the question about the copy of the PR card. Yes, the front and back should be on the same page.

The marriage certificate from the church wedding will prove your ongoing relationship, but don't just send the marriage certificate from Ecuador "just in case". The legal proof of marriage (which was in Ecuador) is mandatory for proof of marriage.
