Chargers Will Greet Kaepernick and 49er’s With Most Patriotic Pregame in History

Colin Kaepernick has been making headlines for days over his refusal to stand for the national anthem during a preseason NFL football game. Well, the next time Kaepernick’s 49er’s take the field they will be in one of the biggest military cities in the nation – San Diego. The Chargers are rolling out something very special for their game against Kaepernick’s team.

The game is being called the “Salute to the Military” and will feature a number of entertainment options which will honor the United States, the American Flag and our nation’s military.

Among the festivities will be 240 service members holding a 150ft x 300ft “super flag” during the national anthem, retired Navy SEALs parachuting into the stadium during the pregame show, Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Powell will sing both the National Anthem as well as a rendition of “God Bless America”, and the Marine Corps band will be on hand for all pregame activities.

The same people who harbor ill feelings toward protestors for the use of violence are putting down Kaepernick for protesting by sitting down during the National Anthem. How much more of a peaceful protest could one possibly partake in than sitting down?

Someone please issue a protestors handbook so nobody gets offended.

I wonder what would happen if somebody protested by sitting down for the National Anthem and when asked why he was was not standing his reply would be that he was protesting the taking away of his 2nd Amendment rights?

What's funny about this is Colin is giving his opinion in a very non violent way and his criticism of the flag is making people upset.

Yeah the Castro shirt didn't make much sense. If you're protesting people being oppressed, I think Castro would be the last guy you'd want on your t-shirt. I've heard on sports radio that he's got a new girlfriend who is an activist and might be the reason why he's decided to do this. Today he showed up at the 49ers practice wearing socks with pigs dressed as cops. I don't necessarily agree with the socks, but as far as protests go, it is on the tame side.

black socks are always a no no, imo. least he ain't wearing them with flip flops.
