Please.. please can any one help me . I started my filing process in March 23 2016.. since then USCIS has sent me 2 notices of supporting evidence I-797 . My problem is my local postal office, wHo jeeps on sending it back withe a notice that is,was undeliverable. USCIS has sent me a 3rd notice of an I-797 sent on August 8th.. it hasn't arrived yet and dint know what to do with me corespondence beind,sent back by my postal service.. any ideas in how I can overcome this heddle ?? Thank you

The post office sent the correspondence back saying it was," UNDELIVERABLE " I've since went there to complain 3 different ocassions and they can't seem to give me a straight answer .. and so my notices keep on being sent back .. I've taken out a private PO. BOX mail address to see if this is the next best thing.. but USCIS tells me I have to submit in writing my move to use this new PO Box Address .. I'm very frustrated

Sent Using fedex or UPS ask them for express delivery address

Want to Speed up NVC Process ?


Check Guides From Guide section for doccuments and list of stuff and follow this steps


Step 1 After USCIS NOA2 Gather all AOS / IV Package Documents In 3 weeks


Between USCIS Approving and NVC Case Number you have 2 to 3 weeks gather all AOS and IV Documents Get package ready.


Step 2 Obtain NVC Invoice and Case number.


​After 2 weeks of NOA2 Keep on Calling NVC every day to get case number And Invoice number


Step 3 Pay First Fee and DS261


After getting NVC Case Number and Invoice Number Log in to webpage Pay First Fee and Fill out DS261 Takes 24 to 38 Hr to get fee status paid.


Step 4 Conform Agent / Ds261 Over Phone and Sent out Documents


Once First fee turns Paid Online ( Usualy 24 to 48 hr) Call NVC And conform choice of agent over Phone If they won't keep on calling them Until someone will Or other fee won't be unlocked.Also Once you get Welcome letter on email Print out Document Checklist sheet And Sent in your documents to NVC


Step 5 Pay Other Fee and Fill out DS260 (Total time from DS 261 to here should be no longer then 15 days )


​Step 6 Conform Document delivery AT NVC And Ask them Processing Time..


Step 7 Check For CC ( Hopefully no REF )


Call them every other day 2 weeks from DS260 and Check status.. Also Check Online NVC Page If you have 3 N/A your case Complete! Congratulation you are almost done.


Step 8 48 Hr After CC Conformation Call NVC For appointment for interview


Congratulation On your NVC CC AND Good Luck with Interview

Hello everyone in VJ. I have some concern. I applied for my I-130 for my wife in Colombia back in 03-24-2015, my petition was received and was notified that a follow up I-797 would follow and will be mailed.. as it turns out the postal service where I live has returned that notification from USCIS on 3 separate occasions with no explanation as to why they couldnt deliver it. This has been frustrating. Finally I singed onto a PO Box address and after 6 months of waiting was able to recieve the much anticipated I-797 asking for additional information. My question is : at what stage of the process is my petition.. what comes next so I can be prepared and avoid any future delays. . Thank you

I hope you mean 03-24-2016? What does your notice say? Is it a request for additional evidence? Please give as many details as possible to receive the best advice from other users.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I assume that you filed I-130 on 03-24-2016?

As per the info given you seem to have received RFE, and I would say that you are still on the stage of USCIS.

Next will be paying the fees and gathering the documents as per the checklist you will receive from your consulate as yours is a DCF case.

06/24/2019 -- Card was charged with $680 fees. Text Message received confirming Receipt. Case routed to NBC (Case Number starts with 'MSC')

06/28/2019 -- NOA Hard Copy & 18 Months Extension Letter Received in Mail with NOA Date as 06/19/2019

07/12/2019 -- Biomentrics Appointment Letter received. The Letter is Dated 7/5/2019. Appointment is on 7/22/2019

07/22/2019 -- Biometrics Appointment Complete

02/01/2022 -- Interview Scheduled for 3/3/2022 (combo interview)

03/03/2022 -- Interview Complete. No new Green Card will be produced as my Naturalization was also approved.

03/04/2022 -- USCIS status changed to approved.

Hello everyone. My apologies. Yes my file date was on 03/24/2016 and I finally did recieve my follow up package I-797 with ( RFE ) I must of read 100 times each request for evidence and checked and re checked everything multiple times to avoid making mistakes. I followed their every instructions and finally submitted and mailed it back to USCIS in Nebraska . My question is : what follows afterwards and at what stage of the process am I at ??... in anticipation I personally thank each and everyone that has helped me in this proces.. it's an uphill battle and one I'm not giving up easily... thank you for any input

Once they receive your response to the RFE, they will proceed with working on your case. You're currently still waiting for petition approval.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Follow the instructions on the letter. It will tell you what sort of evidence they want from you that was missing in the original submission (proof of US status? evidence of bona fide marriage? marriage certificate?) and send it to where they tell you to send it. And then you need to wait for it to be actioned.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath
