Hey guys, I have some questions, maybe somebody could answer, cause they are not allowed to advise anything about the AMOS at nvc?

1.Can AOS form be filled in by hand as long as its capital letters and black ink or does it have to be printed? Cause I've read somewhere there shouldn't be any blank spaces left, and I can't fill it all in on the computer.. Yes you can fill out by hand. It's suggested to put NONE or N/A where it doesn't apply.

2.My husband's income for 2015 is alright but his income for previous 2 years is below the poverty line. So we went ahead and asked his mom to be a joint sponsor. They both need to fill in I864. My joint sponsor lives with her husband, he has to file I864A, they file taxes jointly, but both are unemployed but have assets to qualify. Do they have to claim all the assets they have or just some to be enough to support me? Correct me if I'm wrong anywhere here. Current income and previous iswhat they care about. But if you are using ajoint sponsor with assets yes spouse I-864 and spouse I-864A. They have to show the source of their assets. So if say its a 401K with a million they show the source and statements. You don;t pick an amount.

3. My husband currently lives with his brother. But he wouldn't want to support me financially and they don't claim each other on taxes. So his brother is not in his household and doesn't have to file any forms? No his brother isn't part of his household #

4.My husband claimed me on taxes, as married filling jointly this year. So does he put on I864 that he used my income to qualify or can he skip it? Cause it was just 120$ ? He puts on I-864 what he made from his income tax forms.

5. Is A-number written on the NO2 next to benneficiarys name? No.You get A number when you immigrate to US.

6. I was going through DS260, haven't done it yet, but I noticed a question about getting a medical license as a foriegne medical graduate sends in the line next to felony, crimes, prostitution etc. Is it something bad they wouldn't want me to do? Have no idea what you are referring to.Why would getting a medical license a bad thing?

7. If you're still officially working but going to quit can you say you're unemployed on ds260? You are still employed at time of filing the DS-260 put where you currently working.

8. If my SSN says valid with work permit do I change it? Or can I keep it like that and say I don't want it changed on ds260? Not really since when you arrive you will be a LPR. And no need for a work permit. But you can visit your SS office and get card replaced.

Thank you guys for at least reading through this, I would really appreciate your answers ?

Thank you!!!

I just saw it between all the questions about crimes and so on and it looked like it was a red flag to them..

And what if they will call my employer and he will tell them I'm not working there..

And so it doesn't matter that it's barcoded? Can I do everything on the computer and put na or none by hand after printing out?

Someone did a good job at explaining buthe i will add more for the sake of new information and experience.

1. You can fill out aos with hand however the new format with uscis automatically doesn't allow you to fill out things not related to you. I did the new form and it worked fine with things being blank. I believe nvc have changed things this year. So make sure you have the new form. Easier to do without mistakes because it automatically fills the household number part for you.

2. Someone here had similar situation where they used spouse parents to do the joint form. According uscis i864a can be filled out for both parents if they live in the same house as the petitioner. Apparently someone was asked to make that after their case was complete simply because they wanted i864a for both parents rather than i864 for one and i864a for the spouse. Your spouse have to do i864 regardless. The reason being that they resided in the same house even if they are not claimed on taxes or household members. But if they are sponsoring then they fill i864a for both parents. But if your husband is making enough for 2015 and this year to support no need for parents help. They mainly care about last year taxes and this year income. Make sure he explains if his this year income is higher than last year's as to why the increase. If he is using his income and u r the one immigrating then do i864ez. Easy to do.

3. No his brother do not qualify for his household.

4. It is such a small amount it is not needed. Just make sure you have the jointly information and numbers correct for 2015 year.

5. A number is given to everyone who enters usa. Are you in USA?

6. That line is there because there are a lot of frauds and there are people that come there to make money by lying. They just want to be careful. Be honest about your profession.

7. At the time for filling the form u r working then no you have to tell the truth.

8. Do u have ssn right now? If not theno just say you will need it when you come to us. It will ask u if u have one or not. I believe someone answered this better than me.

I hope that helps.

My AOS status shows PAID , can i go and pay IV fee now or i need to wait until ds-261 has been reviewed ?

Review your ds 261 and then they will unlock the Iv fee. Otherwise you will wait until they do it in their own time.

If it is bar codes which I remember now it was for me then do it electronically. Much easier.

You have to be honest about your employment. You can mention in additional comments that you will quit but your current employment should reflect on the form.

And I meant if they have lots of different assets, do they have to claim all the houses, bank accounts, cars, etc.

Read step by step instructions for i864 on how to write about assets if using them.

Of course you can't pay it now because it's still unlocked for you, you should first call NVC and ask the agent to confirm your ds-261 and ask him to unlock the IV fee bill for you. it should take 2 days to show and to be payable.

They just want to know. My husband is a nurse and I answered that yes, he hasn't been through any part of the US licensure process yet; I added a note to say that he's in the middle of having his degree evaluated. There's fraud on both sides with healthcare-profession immigration, mostly people in the US recruiting people from foreign countries to work here illegally (valid work permit, no valid license, being held basically as indentured servants). Just answer honestly. It's the same as the question about vaccines: if you don't have them when you fill out the application, don't say that you do, just explain you got them afterward as applicable.

Thank you, I was going to say the truth, I was just wondering if the thing I'm a doctor and going to get a license could affect our process somehow.. I hope if an officer thinks something wrong with it, he will just ask me about it, and I'll have a chance to explain..
