Hey guys, so I am going to see my husband Saturday and I informed my lawyer and she emailed me this;

If you already have your plans to travel as your attorneys I have to explain all possibilities.

Possibility number 1: you may get denied entrance into the US. Because you have already filed a petition. This is called double intent, you are entering as a tourist but you are married to a US citizen and in the process to become a resident. The government does not like that.

Ive noticed lots of beneficiaries on this forum traveling to the U.S. How can I prevent getting turned back?

Hello September 2016,

Checking in.

Scan Date: 08/05/2016

CC for IR-2: 08/30/2016

RFE for IR-1: 08/30/2016 for outdated I-864

RFE for IR-1 mailed to NVC today

Hoping that this is our month. I pray that they wont take long with our RFE since our daughter's case is complete already. Good luck everyone.

Ohh, sorry about the checklist! In what way was the I-864 outdated? Was it the wrong form or was there something not current about your information?

At least you heard about it quickly, not after six weeks!

Scan date 08/03 here. I feel like once we at least know the interview date, the time will feel more bearable.

I think most of the beneficiaries who visit are from visa waiver program countries. My husband and I had planned for him to apply for a tourist visa, but ultimately decided it was probably a waste of time and money. Luckily, I was able to get time away from work to make a short visit last month.

If you have a visa or waiver, I think that's the hardest part done. Carry some evidence with you in hardcopy in your carry-on luggage: a printout of your travel itinerary showing your return, a copy of your work schedule or something like that, if you work, showing when they expect you back; and be ready to tell them the specifics of what you're going to do on the trip (any special places you're going to visit, a family party you're going to attend, etc--anything to show your purpose is specific and you aren't ready to immigrate).

Thanks for your reply. I've had my visitors visa from 2013. I've traveled twice to the U.S before for my birthday and this time will b the same as well. As I was born in September. I plan to return to Jamaica on the 11th of September. I'll print everything and carry with me. Thanks again.

There could be a possiblity that you are turned away or let in the US. It depends on the IO. The IO makes the ultimate decision who gets entrance.

Thanks for the reply. I have printed my job letter, my flight itinerary to show my return flight, hotel itinerary to show my intended stay. Do u have any other suggestions? I could bring my graduation letter that's in October.

Can some one explain to me, if you use your tax return and w2's did you print all 100 plus pages for tax return? or did you print only page with adjustable gross.

and when filling out your form I-864EZ did you write N/A in all the unanswered lines like the one about mailing/physical address and page 7 which speak of more info, if you have none. thanks

Yours story and my story is exactly same. My first scan date was 19th July and second is 29th August. I too ended up getting a checklist because of my lawyer. She was very unprofessional so i fired her. And I got checklist for missing passport copy. When i asked my laweyer she sais she didnt had it so sent my packet without. I asked her why didnt u asked me it would have taken 5 min to scan my passport and email it to you. Crying :,(

Oh! I understand! So sorry to hear we are on the same boat.

When we got the checklist I made a conference call to her with my husband... and she was like "ok, that's fine..just send everything in".... it's just a few $ and another paper for them.

I just keep checking status and calling nvc. Have been exercising a lot...working..and organizing the house to keep my mind out of it..:)

If you post your question I am sure someone would reply.

Hi MrsBurgz, I posted this earlier. I'm preparing my husband's I-864 and I just need some help with. My husband's income is just a couple of hundred less to pass the requirement for 3 members so we would like to use a joint sponsor which is his stepdad and mom. They all live in the same household but he files his tax return separately. My questions would be, should we write his parents's name in his I-864, Part 6? Which form should his parents use, would it be the I-864a?

Print every page for you W2 not just the AGI. Downloading the tax transcript from the IRS website is far easier and less complicated.

For that question if your physical and mailing address the same I click "yes" and it automatically gray out the section to type the mailing. I did not put N/A in that section. I left it blank.

Those seem like good proof for your return. Not sure what else they might be looking for. Hopefully you get a nice officer.

I am sorry I am not familiar with the I-864. I did the I-864EZ. Hopefully someone else can answer your question.
