So I have a question.

Last night I saw the status of my case, which said "in transit" and today I saw that it said "ready." Ready means it is at the consulate office or no?

Which brings me to the next question, once we have our medical done, can we request for an early interview at pak embassy?

Yes, "ready" means that your case is at the embassy. However, I am unsure if your embassy accepts requests for an earlier interview; you can always try though by calling the embassy :)

I wish I can call but according to the updated islamabad embassy website, they do not accept any calls related to immigrant visa. I did email in regards to getting a new passport so let's see what they say. I will probably email them further more to ask for earlier interview.

I am surprised how quickly my case has been going. they sent the documents on the 16 so that was quick that it reached the embassy

You're one of the lucky ones who have been able to go through this whole immigration process rather smoothly and swiftly ;) I'm assuming getting an earlier interview date is okay, since the embassy has everything already anyway. Have you tried scheduling an earlier interview on the ustraveldocs website?

Hello everyone,

My second scan date was 12th of July. After 6 weeks has passed I talked to NVC and they transfered me to a Supervisor who told that my case will be transfered to "Verification Department" to see why it hasn't been reviewed within the time frame. This process will take up to 6 weeks as the supervisor said. Tomorrow I countdawn to 4 weeks of waiting and still my AOS says "Paid". Did somebody else go through this process to tell me if they take the full 6 weeks or around 30 days mostly?

And another question is, if I don't receive any answer till 4th of October (that's my deadline of 6 weeks) what are the next steps to take?

Thanks and good luck to all :)

My wife is going to have her interview in Mumbai, India. I tried to get an earlier date for interview, but we need to have a legit reason for getting an earlier date. From what they said it sounds like they will not prepone our interview just because we have completed our medical earlier.

I don't think it would hurt to email your embassy and request an earlier date. It's all good to ask rather than just giving up without trying.

Good Luck!1

I wouldn't call myself a lucky ones, just someone who spent hours and hours making sure to send the documents right and in proper folders and such. I believe that paid off. I took my friend's advice of putting my documents in binder dividers (folders).

Thanks for the information. I will do that and see what they say.

Just a quick update. Submitted AOS and IV packet on 9/8/16 and approved on 9/12/16. Looks like EP is the real deal.

Can someone please send the link to the interview thread (interviewing at the MTL consulate)?

Thank you.

Also, we got a notice that my wife's passport needs to be renewed because it expires within 6 months of the interview date. It's not a checklist, but we have to prove that my wife has updated her passport prior to the interview.

Um, no. You ARE lucky. If you read through these threads you will find many, many stories of people who have been held up through no fault of their own. Most people spend hours and hours trying to make sure their documents are correct. That's nothing special.

In the NVC stage alone you will find people like me who got checklists meant for other people; people whose packets were simply ignored for six weeks, sending them into a second six weeks for supervisor review; many people whose documents were mysteriously "lost" by the NVC; and people who will just never know why their documents took 45 days to reviews when other people took 18. And that's not even talking about holdups at the USCIS or in getting documents sent over.

So count your blessings, and remember your post if you happen to get delayed somewhere in the embassy stage or administrative processing. You can do your best but some of it is still sheer luck.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest I have never been lucky. Maybe I am this time or maybe I am not. All I know is that I took months to do the work and such and took my friend's advice on how to send it and of course the prayers and I hope the prayers will help me further. I am thankful regardless to everyone especially god.
