I have a question that I hopes you folks can help me answer. When I recieved my NOA2 it said my case has been sent to NVC.

However reading people's post here it looks like you get a different message when USCIS ACTUALLY sends your case on to NVC? Is that the case?

Those of you that got a second notification telling you that your case was sent to NVC did you also have on your NOA2 that your case has been sent to NVC?

POTOMAC isn't updating the website or sending email/text notifications my case still says case received even though I got the NOA2 in the mail 2 weeks ago.

I would suggest that you call NVC and see if they have received your case yet. That is the best way to find out if NVC has received the case.

It's been six weeks since NVC received the stuff they asked for (ONE DOCUMENT) on the checklist. They said it's automatically moved to the supervisor after the six weeks, and might take up to another six weeks. Has anyone else had this? Did it take the entire six weeks after it moved to the supervisor?

Yes, our NOA2 said it had been sent to the department of state (NVC) but it hadn't actually left the USCIS building by that stage. I think it's a technicality. What they are saying is "we've done our part, your case is now the responsibility of NVC". I later got an email confirming that it had been physically sent to NVC and on the app my status changed to show "case sent to department of state". It still shows that status today.

I would call NVC every two days until they confirm they have physically got your case in the building. Too bad we do not have a way of tracking the mail from USCIS to NVC.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Hi, my case was sent to a supervisor the first time after 6 weeks and they made the review in 1 and a half more weeks. After that, I had a checklist and I'm on my four week for one document. I'm pretty sure you're almost done Elperdido. I know is very frustrating but just think we're closer. Good luck!

Thanks Karla. I can't wait. I want to go home. I'm living abroad with my wife until she can come back with me. I've been abroad four years. I started the application in December of last year! I didn't know it would take so long. But, I guess you're right. We're both almost there.

I just got off the phone with NVC again. Told me they had an extreme volume of mail come in back in July. I'm pretty sure that people who had scan dates after us have already had their docs reviewed. Just sucks! I just imagine my files on the floor under somebodies desk collecting dust. half expecting to get another checklist for the same stuff.

Yeah that's what they told me too. And I scanned through this thread and that's exactly correct - some folks with scan dates after us got through already. I aint mad at those folks or anything, congratulations to 'em, but yeah, frustrated as all get out.

A big problem is my current living arrangement is good through December. If I can't leave by then, I don't know what I'm going to do. And I have like 3 cats and a dog, not sure what to do with them if I have to leave. There's a BnB near me that does allow pets but I don't know if that many.

bringing the pets to the U.S.? My wife is part of some group of people that help to find homes for abandoned and homeless animals. She is always taking in baby kittens and she has 3 dogs at her house. She lives in Coronado ( for the time being). She might be able to help you if you need it.
