It's all about how many slots they have for the month and how many petitions they have. You were in the interview queue so your # came up.Congratulations.I have updated you.

Hi Dwheels76, I thought your case needs to leave nvc and send it to the embassy. How can it go from Boston to Albania in one day? I know maybe they use electronics forms. Or do they put you on a wait list? And the consulate knows you got a cc. How many days do you wait for your cc change from nvc to in transit? Thank you!

Huh what are you referring to about Boston to Albania? Your case doesn't leave NVC until you are assigned an interview date.

Here's how interview scheduling goes.

Every month each embassy at different times of the month sends the months calendar of available openings for the different visa types.Like November is beginning scheduled now so they might have Nov 1, 2016 there are 4 (IR1/CR1) slots on and on.

They continue with scheduling until they either run out of slots or run out of petitions.

No the consulates don't know anything about your case until it arrives after the interview is sent. They usually get mailed out 3to4 weeks before interview date.
