Are your girls us citizen or green card holder? There are health care laws. Everyone living legally has to get health insurance. They may be able to get some under medicare.

This isn't quite right--technically if you don't get health insurance, you have to pay a fee. It isn't really mandatory. However, as it sounds like the OP already knows, it's a big mistake to go without it (for any of you, including your husband--I'm not sure what you mean when you say he doesn't need it because he has a joint sponsor). You can buy it month by month until you get a job, if that will be soon; it will be expensive, unfortunately.

The program your family might qualify for is medicAID, not medicARE--based on income. Medicare is for elderly and disabled people. What insurance is available to you, and how much it costs, varies by state. Good luck!

9/20/16 Contacted US Representative Adam Smith's office for assistance (WA)

9/26/16 3 N/As and Case Complete!

11/14/16 Interview: approved pending medical! (Vaccines hadn't been available)

11/19/16 Visa received in passport

12/09/16 POE Seattle

03/06/17 Green card received (address changed after POE, no problem)

5/2017 Our baby is due

well did your search say to send both the tax returns and tax transcripts? because as far as I saw on uscis tax transcripts is enough because it is already filed and it is easier to send rather than finding tax returns at home.

Believe me, I had the hardest time making sure that I was sending the right documents and right information with AOS. it took me month and a half to put together my AOS and even then I was so confused and nervous. But it worked because my case was complete in less than a month and then interview scheduled. now just waiting for medical review.

Yes, tax transcripts are the best thing that you can send, and you do not have to send the W2 and 1099. But there is one exception; in the instructions for the i-864A, it states the following: "Do not include copies of these Forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint Federal income tax return with your spouse." Meaning that if the (joint/co-)sponsor files jointly with his/her spouse, he/she must also send the W2 and 1099. Perhaps I could be interpreting the instructions wrong :wacko: I think we're both correct actually lol.

Everything is completed for my husband's case as well; he had his interview scheduled for Sept.12th but we hit a speed bump with his medical/sputum exam.

Husband had his interview yesterday and I am glad to report that he was approved! :)

Oh really? Well, I'm glad everything is almost over for you, and now you just have to wait for his visa :) Will it be delivered to his home or will he pick it up? (Please excuse me for asking so many questions hehe. I just want to know so I can prepare my husband for when it's his turn).

Thank you so much. When I moved to the US in 2000 as an immigrant we got madical insurance through the state H&W. But till my parents got jobs with benefits. I thought becuase my husband has a joint sponsor he does not qualify cuz the sponsor is liable for his expenses since I live abroad and we used her income. We will need any kind insurance if I do not get a job right before we move. It is very difficult since we have to get lots of stuff done when we get there since we both are here abroad.
