Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone who recently got approvals! :)

Pretty quiet from my end---still waiting for NVC approval just like the rest of the backlogged applicants who have been waiting for ages now. We are on the 5th week since our scan date, but we mistakenly thought it was our 6th week so we called up NVC and was told they had until 6th week to get to our pack. It is frustrating when you let it get to you, but you know, it is what it is. Everyone will get to the end of this journey no matter what, anyway.

Thank you to everyone who have been so helpful with replies and information! Have a great week! :)

Yep. We are about 1 week behind you. Today is the 4th week and it is pretty much driving us crazy since I was calling so often. My husband and I agreed on only calling once a week so we can save some of our sanity. Good luck!

Hit the 6 week mark since my scan date at the NVC last Wednesday and called them up. I waited until I got an operator - averaging 40 minutes for me when calling 2pm Pacific time. In addition to the usual questions (petitioner name, beneficiary name and birthdate) they asked if I submitted my DS-260. I always pause and that question thinking to myself it's odd question since don't they see it on their system. Anyways...they told me since it has been passed 6 weeks it will be sent to supervisor review.

Been calling everyday since then to get a status update and noticed I'm more annoyed with waiting on hold. Hoping to get a CC soon but not getting my hopes up yet.

By the way, I've had best chance in getting through the busy message and connected to NVC customer service by not selecting early morning or lunch breaks or dinner time. And if I do get a the "busy message" I just hang up and call again. The other day I must have redialed 20 times. I know that maybe difficult for those living outside of the US. Just wanted to share my experience.

From my experience in calling every single day, you get little to no wait time (as in it goes straight to the operator) if you call at 5:00 am pacific. I also try to call in the afternoon (4pm pacific) but it's a lot worse. You get the busy message most of the time, and even if you do get through, you get put on hold for 30-45mins average.

09/24 - Sent out I-130 to Phoenix, AZ

09/26 - Received at Phoenix (somewhere in between, the I-797 was mailed and marked back to sender due to post office error)

10/24 - Finally got the I-797 NOA-1 resent to me - forwarded my case to NSC

11/04 - Status changed to RFE

11/12 - Got the RFE letter in the mail (certified copy of marriage certificate)

11/18 - Mailed in RFE response

11/21 - RFE received at USCIS

11/21 - RFE status changed to response review

11/29 - Case approved at USCIS

12/03 - Received NOA-2 in the mail

12/09 - Case sent to NVC

12/15 - Case received by NVC

12/20 - NVC case number and IIN assigned

12/21 - DS-261 submitted online & gave email addresses

12/22 - Had NVC review DS-261 over the phone, paid AOS fee

12/24 - Paid IV fee

12/28 - Submitted DS-260

12/29 - Submitted packet to NVC via FedEx

01/03 - Packet delivered to NVC

01/04 - NVC scan date

03/02 - NVC Supervisor Review

03/16 - Case Complete at NVC

Hello everyone.

The National Visa Center has officially stopped processing all pending green card applications from citizens belonging to one of the 7 banned countries. In addition, they have cancelled all February interviews in these countries as well.

In addition, Hammond Law Group got a "tip" that these are the countries included in the next wave of immigration bans:

Egypt

Lebanon

Afghanistan

Pakistan

Colombia

Venezuela

Southern Philippines

trans-Sahara

Sulu

Sending my thoughts and prayers to everyone who are affected and will be affected by this ban. This is just crazy.

I stand corrected---it's not a "tip". This modification is already currently in circulation and will be released as a modification to the current executive order.

I agree; this sounds kind of funny. How can you possibly ban one portion of a country?

Southern Philippines is also a part of the Philippines that will be banned once this is signed. It doesn't make sense at all and I don't know how they will implement this ban.

I don't know what you mean about provinces. I do know that Southern Philippines is a group of provinces (part of the country Philippines) that will be affected by this ban, and I have no idea how they will implement this ban on just certain parts of a country. It isn't a "thing" yet since it is still in circulation for approval. I am putting this out here so that people from these countries can at least have time to "prepare" (if you can even consider this having adequate time to prepare), unlike the first seven banned countries where the poor immigrants and refugees did not have any idea AT ALL about it. Prayers and thoughts for everyone.

Indeed. Listen people, don't pass on questionable information. Things are really stressful right now for all of us and we need to make sure that we are passing on verified legitimate info. "Trans-Sahara" is not a country- if there is a ban applied to Mali it would apply to the entirety of the country and Sulu is a province in the Philippines. How could a ban apply to one province within a country? Maybe I'm wrong and that is something that is coming down the pipeline but please folks, don't post anything here unless it's accurate.

I am sorry, Elenie and rahill, for making you panic. But I believe people here have the power to not let things get to them. This is only "alarmist" if you let it alarm you. Hopefully others will take this information the way I stated it----that it is pending approval and just a heads-up so they can make contingency plans should this dreaded thing push through. I personally sure would appreciate anyone who will give me a heads-up regarding major things like this. If it pushes through, at least I am partially ready----if not, I sure appreciate the effort in being warned and being given time to prepare.
