He was traveling from Sydney.  He had a flight to there, boarded in Sydney for LA, and had no issues.  He was able to use his ESTA from previous visits since the reason for visiting was the same.  When he landed in LA, they called him up and asked why he was here.  He told them he was visiting his wife for 3 weeks.  He told her we were going through the immigration process and she asked when we had sent in the application.  She then verified he had a return ticket and let him right through.  Easiest time he's ever had getting through customs here.

Does any one know how much time it normally takes potomac services center to respond/approve a case that need to send in more evidence.

Thanks ONEK. In the application update ,it did not mention whether the case will be send to NVC? Should i wait for 2 weeks and start calling NVC for my case number.

Once your case is approved, USCIS will send it to NVC.  Your official NOA2 letter will indicate that.  They are slower in entering the case into the system as received than USCIS.  You can start calling after two weeks of approval. 

The online status is not accurate which will change at a later date to indicate that the case has been sent to NVC.  One of the users here had been calling NVC after USCIS approval and provided them emails and had already paid the fees and a few days later, received alert from USCIS that their case was sent to NVC.  So the USCIS was way behind in notifying when the case was sent to NVC.

So I would say just start contacting NVC after two weeks of approval instead of waiting for USCIS notification that the case has been sent to NVC.

Same here. I applied for both my parents and got my NOA1 on September 1st (NEBRASKA Center), but have not received anything ever since. I really want to be hopeful, but I do not think we are not getting our approvals before March. Please let me know when you receive your NOA2 ... I wishing you luck :)

  • 03/21/21.    Received letter of acceptance 
  • 10/28/21.     Case updated to interview scheduled
  • 10/29/21.      Status updated to case needs attention 
  • 10/29/21.      Interview at 1:15pn 12/01/21 Charleston SC
  • 11/01/21      interview descheduled
  • 11/02/21       interview rescheduled to 12/03/21 @8:45am Charleston
  • 12/03/21      I drove 3 hours for my interview only to be told my file wasn't there and I'd have to be rescheduled for another interview. they weren't sure if it would be possible before the holiday. He even said he wasn't sure why they didn't do both interviews that very day when i did removal of conditions interview.  
  • 01/07/22.     Interview rescheduled for 02/14/22 @1:30pm Charleston SC.
  • 02/14/22.      Passed my interview. Now await oath ceremony.
  • 11/02/22.      Letter mailed with oath ceremony date and time 
  • 11/08/22.      Received letter oath ceremony scheduled for 11/15/22 @9am Charleston 
  • 11/15/22.      Oath Ceremony in Charleston (finally a citizen of the USA 🇺🇸) 🥳🍾
